Month Review

This month we looked at sub-issues under the theme Solidarity! We in TLF believe in Solidarity which ensures love. Solidarity entails acknowledging everything in another’s life while extending love in living according to God’s Word. We need to love our neighbours as ourselves and if we do not take others the way we meet them, we may find ourselves displaying superiority complex.   As a charity and social development organisation, TLF strives to ensure that all concerned- trustees, members, volunteers, beneficiaries, benefactors and all are living in the peace of God. Everyone may not have the position in life and living but we are one in Christ Jesus.  Unity is free, so also is our being children of God. Although the Bible talks a lot about love, God tells us we should not be unequally yoked with unbelievers as two cannot walk together unless they agree. So what should be our stance? Solidarity is first among we the members of the Body of Christ, by that we can fully func...

TLF in 2024, Orphanage Visit, and more...

About yesterday! We knocked and the children gathered around the gate to welcome TLF. We got in and met the staff and children. A good number of the children had gone for an outing organised by a Fellowship. We donated the money, fruits, books and other things we brought. Then we got down to the business of drawing. The children were given boxes to design and customize. Then another group came in and we all just mixed. We prayed, interacted and one from that group prophesied that maybe art would be a talent that could bring one or all of them out. Mine was to let them draw and design in the way they could. Among them is Blessing, Destiny, Winner, Junior, and others. So I said amen so truly they can use art as we've done over the years. The group left and we too wrapped up. I filled the visitor's book and we bade the children happy New Year and stay blessed. While they said, "please come back again!" I said we will try, and I pray we would, God keeping u...

TLF at 20!

Katharine Hepburn, in her own words: "Once, when I was a teenager, my father and I were standing in line to buy tickets for the circus. Finally, there was only one family between us and the ticket counter. That family made a lasting impression on me. There were eight children, all under the age of 12. From the way they were dressed, you could tell they didn’t have much money, but their clothes were clean, very clean. The children were well-behaved, standing in pairs behind their parents, holding hands. They were so excited about the clowns, the animals, and all the acts they would see that night. From their excitement, you could tell they had never been to a circus before. It was going to be a highlight of their lives. The father and mother stood proudly at the front of their little group. The mother was holding her husband’s hand, looking at him as if to say, 'You’re my knight in shining armor.' He was smiling, enjoying seeing his family happy. The ticket lady asked how m...

From All Of Us

What is Christmas to you?

I heard the bells on Christmas day Their old familiar carols play And mild and sweet their songs repeat Of peace on Earth, good will to men And the bells are ringing (peace on Earth) Like a choir they're singing (peace on Earth) In my heart I hear them (peace on Earth) Peace on Earth, good will to men And in despair I bowed my head "There is no peace on Earth, " I said For hate is strong and mocks the song Of peace on Earth, good will to men But the bells are ringing (peace on Earth) Like a choir singing (peace on Earth) Does anybody hear them? (Peace on Earth) Peace on Earth, good will to men Then rang the bells more loud and deep God is not dead, nor doth He sleep (Peace on Earth) (Peace on Earth) The wrong shall fail, the right prevail With peace on Earth, good will to men Then ringing, singing on its way The world revolved from night to day A voice, a chime, a chant sublime Of peace on Earth, good will to men And the bells, they're ringing (peace on Earth) Like a...

21st of May is World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development.

21st of May is World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development.  Why should we mark this day? International days like this are occasions to educate the public on issues of concern, to mobilise political will and resources to address global problems, and to celebrate and reinforce achievements of humanity.  The existence of international days predates the establishment of the United Nations, but the UN has embraced them as a powerful advocacy tool. There are also days not designated by U.N. which we in TLF commemorate all the same. In our theme of #Solidarity highlighting issues of Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development is key. Just as we are discussing the issue of the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, we must also seek ways we can use our cultural diversity for development, this we can do by continuous dialogue and yes, action. I personally represent 4 distinct tribes in Nigeria and I am always open to dialogue about cultural diversity among my rela...

21st of March yearly is the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

Have you ever experienced racial discrimination? If no what do you think about stories you've heard of others, if yes, share your experiences on our X, LinkedIn and Facebook or you cn send us an email. We stand with you. 21st of March yearly is the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. On this day we are to stand in solidarity against racism and work assiduously to eliminate it totally. By extension, we have to stand in solidarity against tribalism, and work for it's total elimination. Come March 21st the world would mark this event, but for us in TLF we have added it to our theme for December which is #Solidarity. What are you standing against? How can we collectively work to eliminate racism and tribalism? #Solidarity  TLF💚

Gracias!

We sincerely thank all those who wake us up with donations of cash and kind and today was not an exception. Please join us to pray for our donors. We have received cash donations and a number of others have asked that we meet them for their own donations especially towards the visitations. We also have our 3rd Term General Meeting coming up on the 29th of December and that would also be our end of year celebration. We can't thank enough those who pray for us and who are silent givers. We thank all those who have donated also. Remember you can share your 2024 testimonies on our TLF Testimonies page on Facebook. TLF💚

International Human Solidarity Day is our Da day

For the United Nations, International Human Solidarity Day is a day to celebrate our unity in diversity;  a day to remind governments to respect their commitments to international agreements;  a day to raise public awareness of the importance of solidarity; a day to encourage debate on the ways to promote solidarity for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals including poverty eradication; a day of action to encourage new initiatives for poverty eradication. It is in the spirit of solidarity that the Organization relies on “cooperation in solving international problems of an economic, social, cultural or humanitarian character” as well. The General Assembly, on 22 December 2005, by resolution 60/209 identified solidarity as one of the fundamental and universal values that should underlie relations between peoples in the twenty-first century, and in that regard decided to proclaim 20 December of each year International Human Solidarity Day.  By resolution 57/2...

What TLF Is Up To This Period

What is TLF doing this Christmas and New Year Season? By God's grace - 1. We are gathering foodstuffs, clothes and other items in our pool for onward distribution. 2. We are visiting Oko Correctional Centre and we'd patronize things made by the inmates to encourage them.  3. We are visiting Ajebor Orphanage home and we'd distribute items and teach them creative art. Note: in TLF we do not emphasise pictures and videos. Majority of the places we visit do not even allow such. We receive items and donations in trust. Anyone who wants to give directly is welcome to. Anyone who is willing to give to us in trust is also welcome to do so. Anyone willing to accompany us is welcome to.

3rd Term Meeting

We have our 3rd Term General Meeting in this month of December tentatively on Sunday 29th between the hours of 3pm - 5.30pm, in our temporary Centre.  We must note that our General Meetings are only thrice a year - April, August and December.  Thank you and God loves you and I. TLF💚

Happy New Month From All Of Us

Welcome...
