13 February World Radio Day   3 May World Press Freedom Day  16 May International Day of Light  17 May World Telecommunication and Information Society Day   23 September International Day of Sign Languages  28 September International Day for Universal Access to Information  30 September International Translation Day  5 October World Teachers’ Day   24 October World Development Information Day   21 November World Television Day  Why are these days important to us even in May? This is because these days play a role in adding to the sum total of our Aim and Objectives in TLF.  But note that 17th of May is World Telecommunication and Information Society Day the "D" day, we are going to focus on issues of the communication in modern times.  In the course of the year, join us in carrying out the various activities lined up in accordance with our themes. Remember that our cardinal projects are to distribute freely - Complete Bibles, devotionals, books, CDs, tracts, comics; send ou

Theme For May

It's our month of light aka communication.  Communication brings awareness, which brings light to a dark area of our world we do not yet concern ourselves with, and this causes an action plan to be made and executed. We urge us in love to pick one of the issues under our theme for this month and help share messages, videos, pictures and matters for discussion and action plans under any of the issues. Communication is key to human existence. Remember the tower of Babel? But more so remember the day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit was poured out on all who were in Jerusalem and they spoke in various tongues.  Communicate and listen to communicate. Don't be a harbinger of Fake News. Galatians 6:6 Let him that is taught in the word communicate to him that teaches in all good things. #May  #Communication

Why Do You Smoke?

6 personalized approaches to quitting forever.  Everyone smokes—and quits—for different reasons, and the key to getting smoke-free for life is to find out why you are smoking and then change those behaviors. If you are a Recreational or Social Smoker, you may feel that your limited smoking poses no serious medical harm to yourself or others. You may, however, ignore warning signs that your occasional smoking is progressing into addiction, especially during periods of stress or increased alcohol use. A periodic review of these warning signs may help motivate you to consider becoming smoke-free. The Scared-to-Quit Smoker has no end of reasons (excuses) to put off going smoke-free to some future date. Sometimes it helps to focus on just quitting for one day. If you can quit for a day, you can quit every day. This realization can be a great confidence builder, and helps to decrease your fears about not smoking “ever again.” Forever is too big a word for many addicts; thus the old adage “Ta

TLF Centre News

Thank God for His faithfulness. We have been able to ensure the upkeep of the TLF Centre. We had our usual Breakfast Meeting and we had various activities in the Centre and in our outdoor outreaches. We often receive visitors and others who come to make enquiries. We have alternative power and water. But we cannot have enough of musical instruments, games and sports equipment, diesel and fuel, data credit, call credit, mementoes, bicycles, funds and many other things. Join us as we encourage wellness and every other time.  #April

31st May is World No-Tobacco Day

We commend all those individuals, groups, NGOs, Charities, Foundations and others involved in the propagation of no to tobacco. We do not need people smoking in the society for whatever reason. God bless your labour and work of love in the attempt to create the awareness of the dangers of tobacco and smoking in any form. May we not do anything in vain. All attempts to create awareness on the packs of cigarettes and adverts would yield good results and people would not love death. Remember Proverbs 8:36 But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul; All those who hate me love death." God is love. There is no answer outside of God. Your life in God is most important. In all your safety, submit to Jesus Christ and be fervent. Tina Tobo PSLC, BL, Ph.D.

Month Review

This month we looked at sub-issues under the theme Who’s WHO aka Health! We in TLF take issues of health very seriously. Health is wealth. Without good and sound health who can function personally, in a family, in a society or within a Foundation. We need to take our health seriously and if we do we would take the health of others seriously also. Most times the issues of health seem wide and overwhelming and we are only concerned about the health issues that concern us.   As a charity and social development organisation, TLF strives to ensure that all concerned- trustees, members, volunteers, beneficiaries, benefactors and all are living in good health as we serve a God Who provides the Balm of Gilead. We all may have one health challenge or the other at one time in life but our wholesomeness lies in Christ Jesus.  The United Nations enjoins us to take seriously the issue of Health as it declared among other relevant dates, 7th April as World Health Day, 4th February as World Cancer D

Commendations

28th of April is World Day for Safety and Health at Work.

We commend all those individuals, groups, NGOs, Charities, Foundations and others who engage in advocacy for safety and health at work. God bless your labour and work of love. May we not do anything in vain. Remember Colossians 1:10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; God is love. There is no answer outside of God. Your life in God is most important. In all your striving to be safe and healthy at work, live for Jesus Christ and be fervent. Tina Tobo PSLC, BL, Ph.D.  ... the ultimate law is love. #April

28th of September is World Rabies Day.

We commend all those individuals, groups, NGOs, Charities, Foundations and others involved in the treatment and research of rabies. God bless your labour and work of love. May we not do anything in vain. Remember Job 5:23 For you shall have a covenant with the stones of the field, And the beasts of the field shall be at peace with you. God is love. There is no answer outside of God. Your life in God is most important. In all your safety, submit to Jesus Christ and be fervent. Tina Tobo PSLC, BL, Ph.D.  ... the ultimate law is love. #April

Be Motivated

"Be careful what you think." Proverbs 4:23   Feelings can be misleading. A Christian writer says, "For many years I lived according to my feelings. It was like riding a roller coaster; one day laughing and feeling good, the next crying and feeling sorry for myself. I was being tormented and controlled. I needed emotional maturity, but I needed God's help to attain it. It's easy to fall into the trap of believing your fickle feelings more than what God says in His Word. And it will take a constant act of your will to choose to do things His way rather than your own. But when you do, you'll discover that life is more enjoyable when you're living according to God's plan." Just as you don't let everybody who knocks on your door come in and make themselves at home, don't let every emotion that surfaces dictate the direction of your day or decide your responses. The Bible says, "Be careful what you think, because your thoughts run your lif

There is so much to be done at the TLF Centre which transcend to our outdoor activities. We need those who can draw and animate to help produce comics and pictorial posters we use to spread our messages and theme for the month. We also need need those who would help us teach craft, reading and writing to those who come to the Centre. If you cannot participate physically, you can support financially or by telling others. It will take you and I to keep the Foundation running. But not just with goodwill and kind wishes but with prayers, action and commitment.  We await you. Thanks.

FOR MEMBERS OF TINA LOVE FOUNDATION (TLF) Let us be reminded of our next Term TLF General Meeting coming up in August God keeping us. We shall be having our May Breakfast Meeting on May 1st by 8am at our temporary Centre. God still sits on the throne. Each of you may be going through a tough time right now but God is getting ready to bless you in a way that only He can. Keep the faith.  Let's continue to pray for one another.  Let us pray:  "Father, I ask you to bless our friends, relatives and blog viewers and followers reading this right now. Show them a new revelation of your love and power. Holy Spirit, I ask you to minister to their spirit at this very moment. Where there is pain, give them your peace and mercy. Where there is self-doubt, release a renewed confidence through your grace. Bless their faith, destinies, works, schools, homes, families, finances, their going out and their coming in, in Jesus' precious name, Amen. #April

Weekly Outline At Our Centre

OUR WEEKLY OUTLINE  Mondays - General Counselling and Prayers We would agree that there is an increase in wrong decisions being taken by many with regards life and death when things don't go well. There is a need for group circle meetings where strength can be pulled from like minded people. It's the same way testimonies of believers help strengthen our faith. Come for counselling and group circle meetings. Tuesdays - Seminars and Workshops  Based on our monthly theme we have different sub-themes from which we need to address and formulate action plans as a group. These seminars and workshops also provide opportunities to have filmshows. The effect of having audio-visual meetings can't be overestimated. Come we invite you to attend our weekly workshop, seminar or filmshow. Wednesdays - Ecumenism in Music By bringing people together who have interest in music, we provide in our immediate community, the opportunity for people to sing, have spoken word poetry, learn with the f

25th of September is World Pharmacist Day

We celebrate with pharmacists every time they have their Day. God bless pharmacists who truly know their vocation, profession and expertise. We must respect them and encourage them in their work so they do better, they stay in their countries to work and they live long to work and enjoy. From all of us in TLF We wish pharmacists well.

25th of April is World Malaria Day.

This annual event is a worldwide effort, to raise awareness of Malaria and funds for the treatment and prevention of malaria. The day works to highlight the need for better political intervention in malaria control and prevention. The day also marks the continuing great achievements in the fight against Malaria. We commend all those individuals, groups, NGOs, Charities, Foundations and others who are involved in the eradication of malaria. Did you know? A Malaria Vaccine is out and NAFDAC has approved the R21 malaria vaccine this month. This makes Nigeria the second country to approve the new malaria vaccine developed at the University of Oxford, after Ghana. The vaccine is indicated for the prevention of clinical malaria in children from 5 months to 36 months of age. The combat against malaria seems promising and might result in a brighter future. We have that in the nearest future we will eventually have zero malaria in Nigeria, Africa and the World at large. Many feel that the WHO c

Fondly Remembered

“The Ministry of Mourning” By  David C. McCasland Godly men buried Stephen and mourned deeply for him. Acts 8:2 In 2002, a few months after my sister Martha and her husband, Jim, died in an accident, a friend invited me to a “Growing Through Grief” workshop at our church. I reluctantly agreed to attend the first session but had no intention of going back. To my surprise, I discovered a caring community of people trying to come to grips with a significant loss in their lives by seeking the help of God and others. It drew me back week after week as I worked toward acceptance and peace through the process of sharing our grief together. Like the sudden loss of a loved one or friend, the death of Stephen, a dynamic witness for Jesus, brought shock and sorrow to those in the early church (Acts 7:57–60). In the face of persecution, “Godly men buried Stephen and mourned deeply for him” (8:2). These men of faith did two things together: They buried Stephen, an act of finality and loss. And they

Be Informed

In 1919 when the flu killed 40 million people, there was a Doctor who visited many farmers to see if he could help them combat the flu. Many of the farmers and their family had contracted it, and many died. The doctor came upon one farmer, and to his surprise, everyone in the household was very healthy.  When the doctor asked what the farmer was doing that was different, the wife replied that she had placed an unpeeled onion in a dish in the rooms of the home. The doctor couldn't believe it and asked if he could have one of the onions and place it under the microscope. She gave him one, and when he did this, he did find the flu virus in the onion. It obviously absorbed the bacteria, therefore, keeping the family healthy.   Several years ago many employees were coming down with the flu and their employer placed several bowls with onions around. To her surprise, none of her staff got sick. Buy some onions and place them in bowls around your home. If you work at a desk, place one or t

24th of March is World Tuberculosis Day.

Here is a picture of my spot where I received immunisation against tuberculosis some years ago. We commend all those individuals, groups, NGOs, Charities, Foundations and others who engage in one form of tuberculosis immunisation, prevention, treatment and research. God bless your labour and work of love. May we not do anything in vain. Remember Isaiah 58:8 Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily, And your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard. God is love. There is no answer outside of God. Your life in God is most important. In all your research, submit to Jesus Christ and be fervent. Abortion

THINK AGAIN! Would you consider abortion in the following situations? 1. There's a preacher and wife who are very poor. They already have 14 kids. Now she finds out she's pregnant with the 15th. They're living in tremendous poverty. Considering their tremendous poverty and the excessive world population, would you consider recommending she get an abortion? 2. The father is sick with sniffles, the mother has TB. They have 4 children. 1st is blind, 2nd is dead, 3rd is deaf, 4th has TB. She finds she's pregnant again. Given the extreme situation, would you consider recommending abortion? 3. A white man raped a 13-year-old black girl and she got pregnant. If you were her parents, would you consider recommending abortion? 4. A teenage girl is pregnant. She's not married. Her fiancé is not the father of the baby, and he's very upset. Would you consider recommending abortion? Well for your information if you "consider recommending abortion"-  In the 1st case

Be Motivated...

A worried woman went to her gynecologist and said: 'Doctor, I have a serious problem and desperately need your help! My baby is not even 1 year old and I'm pregnant again. I don't want kids so close together.' So the doctor said: 'Ok and what do you want me to do?' ... She said: 'I want you to end my pregnancy, and I'm counting on your help with this.' The doctor thought for a little, and after some silence he said to the lady: 'I think I have a better solution for your problem. It's less dangerous for you too.' She smiled, thinking that the doctor was going to accept her request. Then he continued: 'You see, in order for you not to have to take care of 2 babies at the same time, let's kill the one in your arms. This way, you could rest some before the other one is born. If we're going to kill one of them, it doesn't matter which one it is. There would be no risk for your body if you chose the one in your arms.' The la

We commend all those individuals, groups, NGOs, Charities, Foundations and others who engage in one form of down syndrome management, awareness drive and research. God bless your labour and work of love. May we not do anything in vain. Remember Psalms 27:1 The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear?
