Storytime

#Copied  Jenny was so happy about the house they had found. For once in her life 'twas on the right side of town. She unpacked her things with such great ease. As she watched her new curtains blow in the breeze. How wonderful it was to have her own room. School would be starting; she'd have friends over soon. There'd be sleep-overs, and parties; she was so happy It's just the way she wanted her life to be. On the first day of school, everything went great. She made new friends and even got a date! She thought, "I want to be popular and I'm going to be, Because I just got a date with the star of the team!" To be known in this school you had to have clout, And dating this guy would sure help her out. There was only one problem stopping her fate. Her parents had said she was too young to date. "Well I just won't tell them the entire truth. They won't know the difference; what's there to lose?" Jenny asked to stay with her friends that ni...

Storytime

Six year-old Brandon decided one Saturday morning to fix his parents pancakes. He found a big bowl and spoon, pulled a chair to the counter, opened the cupboard and pulled out the heavy flour canister, spilling it on the floor.  He scooped some of the flour into the bowl with his hands, mixed in most of a cup of milk and added some sugar, leaving a floury trail on the floor which by now had a few tracks left by his kitten.  Brandon was covered with flour and getting frustrated. He wanted this to be something very good for Mom and Dad, but it was getting very bad.  He didn't know what to do next, whether to put it all into the oven or on the stove and he didn't know how the stove worked! Suddenly he saw his kitten licking from the bowl of mix and reached to push her away, knocking the egg carton to the floor. Frantically he tried to clean up this monumental mess but slipped on the eggs, getting his pajamas white and sticky.  And just then he saw Dad standing at the do...

Attend Lectures When You Can

I often attend Inaugural lectures wherever I find myself in academic environments in whatever field it centres on. Our prayer is that our numerous lectures, projects, theses and researches leave the shelves and achieves and go to town! Money, fame and prestige are not everything. When we get degrees is it just for our self aggrandisement or wealth? The ultimate law is love, so says the Bible and we align with it in TLF. All our education and research should be for good of the society and for social development. The satisfaction that all God has endowed on us and our knowledge gotten, must necessitate that we take our "gowns" to "town." Let us impact where God has sent us to. How can our society develop if we do not apply even our academic knowledge? I celebrate with all our inaugural lecturers, they have done their own and done so excellently. We commend and congratulate all inaugural lecturers. Thank you. We urge you also to attend inaugural lectures when you can a...

Love your neighbour

Zoey our star girl ✨ should inspire us all! Just was thinking and I wondered if I had any wounds needing to be healed, friendships that need rekindling or three words needing to be said, sometimes, "I love you" can heal & bless! Remind every one of your friends that you love them. Even if you think they don't love back, you would be amazed at what those three little words, a smile, and a reminder like this can do.  Just in case I haven't told you lately... I LOVE YA ALL!!!  TLF 💚

Older Persons

1st of October is International Day of Older Persons. We commend all those individuals, groups, NGOs, Charities, Foundations and others who engage in activities and creating awareness of the issues and plight of the elderly and those of older ages. God bless their labours and works of love. May we not do anything in vain. Remember - Revelation 5:6 And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth. 1 Peter 5:1 The elders who are among you I exhort, I who am a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that will be revealed: Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. #NextGeneration Stories

Cherokee Legend Do you know the legend of the Cherokee Indian youth's rite of Passage? His father takes him into the forest, blindfolds him and leaves him alone.  He is required to sit on a stump the whole night and not remove the blindfold until the rays of the morning sun shine through it. He cannot cry out for help from anyone.  Once he survives the night, he is a MAN. He cannot tell the other boys of this experience, because each lad must come into manhood on his own. The boy is naturally terrified. He can hear all kinds of noises. Wild beasts must surely be all around him. Maybe even some humans might do him harm. The wind blew the grass and earth, and shook his stump, but he sat stoically, never removing the blindfold. It would be the only way he could become a man! Finally, after a horrific night the sun appeared and he removed his blindfold. It was then that he discovered his father sitting on the stump next to him.    He had been at watch the entire night, p...

UN Days for the Month of August

The United Nations designates specific days, weeks, years and decades as occasions to mark particular events or topics in order to promote, through awareness and action, the objectives of the Organization. Usually, it is one or more Member States that propose these observances and the General Assembly establishes them with a resolution. On occasion, these celebrations are declared by the specialized agencies of the United Nations, such as UNESCO, UNICEF, FAO, etc., when they concern issues that fall within the scope of their competencies. Some of them may be later adopted by the General Assembly. 12 August International Youth Day   19 August World Humanitarian Day   21 August International Day of Remembrance and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism  23 August International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and Its Abolition [UNESCO]   29 August International Day against Nuclear Tests  Stella For: Friends of TLF💚 #August

August Theme

Our thematic issues for this month is #NextGeneration We urge us in love to pick one of the issues under our theme for the month and help share messages, videos, pictures and matters for discussion and action plans under any of the issues. Let's dig deep into the concept of preparing the next generation of leaders, professionals, members of the society among others, which comes from God Himself right from creation and see how it improves acts of charity and social development. Humanity has survived since creation because intentional efforts have been made to prepare for generations to generations. Families birth those who'd constitute the next generation. If we don't prepare the next generation, we'd have a retrogressive situation which is highly preventable. #NextGeneration #August TLF 💚

By God's Grace

July Ends...

We thank God for yet another successful month. We want to encourage you that God loves you more than any work you're doing in His name. Remember the story of Mary and Martha, while Jesus visited them at one time? Also remember that some people get lost in the work of God that they assume "Messiah Complex" and believe without them things won't work or will fall apart, it's not so. We are God's handiwork, after our lives here, we shall return to Him and He'd raise more labourers for His vineyard. So what is important is that we refresh, rekindle, reboot and retreat often to fan aflame our fire of love for Him.  Our fellowship and intimacy with God is more than any work we do, ask David. As a shepherd, warrior and even king, he took time to pray, commune, write Psalms and sing to God. Examine the life of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour, He took time out to pray and be with His Father, not minding His busy schedule and good works He did everywhere. Paul has ...
