In this June we as an NGO have engaged in issues surrounding #Ventures. We have discussed several facets of enterprise as well as highlighted the good and the bad. We said that on one hand - work, pursuing various business ventures and carrying out the labour of our hands can be honourable as they are essential in every aspect of life as well as for the growth of income for personal, family, communal and family upkeep. On the other hand we have condemned slave labour, evil hustle and love of money.  In this month we have put together various United Nations’ Days of celebrating enterprise into one, such as World Day against Child Labour and Micro-, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Day. We continued in our works of charity by sharing food and other items around our centre. We visited the Health Centre, Benin Correctional Centre and other places, where we shared customised TLF gifts and cash. We received donations and also solicited for more donations. Proverbs 12:11 Outside my office window, the squirrels are in a race against winter to bury their acorns in a safe, accessible place. Their commotion amuses me. An entire herd of deer can go through our back yard and not make a sound, but one squirrel sounds like an invasion. The two creatures are different in another way as well. Deer do not prepare for winter. When the snow comes they eat whatever they can find along the way (including ornamental shrubs in our yard). But squirrels would starve if they followed that example. They would be unable to find suitable food. The deer and the squirrel represent ways that God cares for us. He enables us to work and save for the future, and He meets our need when resources are scarce.
