Month Review

This month we looked at sub-issues under the theme Social Justice! We in TLF abhor social injustice. We need to love our neighbours as ourselves and if we do unto others what we want done to us we would be more sensitive to the issues of justice. Most times the issues of social injustice do not ring a bell to some until it comes close to home, God forbid that should happen.   As a charity and social development organisation, TLF strives to ensure that all concerned- trustees, members, volunteers, beneficiaries, benefactors and all are living in the consciousness that we serve a God of mercy Who is also the God of justice. Everyone may not have the basics of life and living but we are tranquil in Christ Jesus.  The United Nations enjoins individuals to take seriously the issue of Social Justice as it declared among other relevant dates, 20th February is World Day of Social Justice, 7th April is International Day of Reflection on the Genocide in Rwanda,  15th September is International D

What really happened to so many cases of injustice that buzzed the internet over the years and even in recent times? What about all those hash tags? What about those protests and agitations? Why do we often sweep things under the carpet? And so quickly at that? Remember blood cries out. Truth cannot be buried. Justice goes beyond rhetoric jabs.  Check and ensure that you are not contributing to social injustice! #February
A frog at the bottom of a well lives in a small dark world. It cannot see much light. The frog does not know that there is a bigger, better, beautiful world outside the well. This proverb means that people often think in the same way as the frog. We only 'see' the things that are near to us, and do not understand that anything else can be true or real. But God has a whole new world waiting for us, and he wants us to 'get out of the well' and find it. Just as a frog cannot easily get out of a well unless someone pulls it up, Jesus is the one who can lift us out of our 'well'. In the book of Psalms the singer writes about God: "You listened and pulled me from a lonely pit (hole or well) full of mud... You let me stand on a rock with my feet firm, and you gave me a new song." #Copied #February

Weekly Outline At Our Centre

OUR WEEKLY OUTLINE  Mondays - General Counselling and Prayers We would agree that there is an increase in wrong decisions being taken by many with regards life and death when things don't go well. There is a need for group circle meetings where strength can be pulled from likeminded people. It's the same way testimonies of believers help strengthen our faith. Come for counselling and group circle meetings. Tuesdays - Seminars and Workshops  Based on our monthly theme we have different sub-themes from which we need to address and formulate action plans as a group. These seminars and workshops also provide opportunities to have film shows. The effect of having audio-visual meetings can't be overestimated. Come we invite you to attend our weekly workshop, seminar or film show. Wednesdays - Ecumenism in Music By bringing people together who have interest in music, we provide in our immediate community, the opportunity for people to sing, have spoken word poetry, learn with the

Social Injustices Exist All Around The World

The issue of social injustice cut across all facets of society and generations. Our prayer is that such cases and instances of social injustice are reduced to their bearest minimum. - African Child in Human Zoo. Brussel, Belgium - Segregation of children in a classroom based on race. - A cop discharging a Pepper-Spray on a little innocent girl during a public protest. Niterói, Brazil, 2011. - In Iran boys are criminally responsible from the age of 15, while for girls it is 9 years of age. - Add yours! #February

#Copied Scambaiter By Dan Damon  BBC, London   Mike is a "scambaiter," dedicated to fighting back against those who send out the notorious 419 e-mails, promising untold wealth to anyone gullible or naive enough to disclose their bank details.  Mike asked us not to use his full name because he's dealing with some heavy cross-border criminals. Those who fall for the 419 cons are hoping for millions. His group of volunteers at 419eater.com use their computer skills to fool the scammers, to disrupt their crimes, and to have some fun at the scammer's expense.  Every day, millions of people get e-mails like this:  Dear Sir/ Madam,  I am fine today and how are you? I hope this letter will find you in the best of health. Security Tips:

Education of Household and staff: Family members, relations on visits and domestics should be educated on security procedures, including: i. Answering the door first find out who is at the door before opening. Use of peep hole, and opening into a secure chain prevents forceful entry by an intruder ii. Telephone. Do not give out information (e.g. address, names, whether you are at home or not) even when requested by caller. iii. Emergency procedures. Know how to respond in event of fire, armed robbery attack, etc. Emergency numbers to be placed where easily seen, knowledge of basic First Aid (First Aid kit should be available in the home) iv. Lighting. Illuminate all round your building or flat, especially the areas of the entrances/exits. Always leave light on in a part of the house when away at night in order to make it difficult for an observer to know when you are in or not. While most effort is concentrated on warding off external threats, a threat within is far more dangerous due
Nine Crucial Tips Because of recent abductions in daylight hours, refresh yourself on these things to do in an emergency situation. This is for you, and for you to share with your spouse, your children, everyone you know. After reading these 9 crucial tips, tell others you care about. 1 The elbow is the strongest point on your body. If you are close enough to use it, do! 2. If a robber asks for your wallet and/or purse, DO NOT HAND IT OVER. Toss it away from you for chances are that he is more interested in your wallet and/or purse than you, and he will go for the wallet/purse. 3. If you are ever thrown into the trunk of a car, kick out the back tail lights and stick your arm out the hole and start waving like crazy. The driver won't see you, but everybody else will. This has saved lives. 4. Women have a tendency to get into their cars after shopping, eating, working, etc., and just sit but a predator maybe watching you, and this is the perfect opportunity for him to get in on the

The D Day For Us in February

20th February is World Day of Social Justice.  This is our day for our theme in TLF. We commend all those individuals, groups, NGOs, Charities, Foundations and others who engage in one form of social justice. God bless your labour and work of love. May we not do anything in vain. Remember Revelation 14:7 "Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water." Remember the ultimate law is love. God is love. There is no Creator outside of God. Your life in God is most important. In all your fight for justice, give your life to Jesus Christ and be fervent. Tina Tobo PSLC, BL, PHD  ... the ultimate law is love.

Pray for Our Cause and Join Us

In conjunction with Tina Tobo & Associate, we wish to carry out Law Clinics in various local communities, churches, NGOs, organisations, etc where free legal counsel would be provided by reasoned lawyers in order to curb social injustice. We urge you to be a part of this. You can support us by providing logistics such as fliers, refreshments, stipends for those who would help in the set up as well us canopies, chairs and writing materials for the counselling sessions. We believe that just like free medical care is given around villages, communities and areas without primary health care, we too can ensure that social justice reaches the grassroot. We will love for you to join us as we raise money for our causes. We are also in need of a new batches of Tracts, Stationeries, Centre logistics and other outreach expenses. Our budget is based on current market prices and we would appreciate you support us accordingly. Thank you. Itohanoghosa For: Tina Love Foundation (TLF) #February

A STORY:

She was in prison for many years for a crime that she had done. In the prison were people who had done all sorts of crimes. Each day she looked forward to the time that she would be free from prison and she could go home. But every day was just another day of hard work with little or nothing to eat. In fact, she suffered much in that prison. One day the President of her country came to visit the prison. He decided to free the prisoners, but they did not know this was why he had come to see them. Each prisoner was brought to the President who asked them what crime they had done. To the great surprise of the President, everybody except her said they had done nothing wrong. When he asked her why she was in prison, she said it was because she had done something very wrong and she was guilty of the crime. The President said to her, "I am giving you a pardon. Since you are guilty and every other person says they are innocent, you don't have to be with them any longer. You may go bac

Storytime

A pretty woman was serving a life sentence in prison. Angry and resentful about her situation, she had decided that she would rather die than to live another year in prison. Over the years she had become good friends with one of the prison caretakers. His job, among others, was to bury those prisoners who died in a graveyard just outside the prison walls. When a prisoner died, the caretaker rang a bell, which was heard by everyone. The caretaker then got the body and put it in a casket. Next, he entered his office to fill out the death certificate before returning to the casket to nail the lid shut. Finally, he put the casket on a wagon to take it to the graveyard and bury it. Knowing this routine, the woman devised an escape plan and shared it with the caretaker. The next time the bell rang; the woman would leave her cell and sneak into the dark room where the coffins were kept. She would slip into the coffin with the dead body while the caretaker was filling out the death certificate

FACTS AND BACKGROUNDS OF ‪#VALENTINE‬'S DAY CELEBRATIONS: WHAT A SINCERE BIBLE CHRISTIAN SHOULD KNOW ABOUT VALENTINE'S DAY AND ITS CELEBRATION. 1. February 14 was an old celebration to JunoFebruata, the Roman goddess of sexual passion. 2. It included pairing adolescents by chance drawing for casual sex and going relationships. 3. Cupid was Roman god of love. 4. Lupercerlia, the celebration of Lupercus, the Roman god of fertility included casual sex, and marriage based on mere chance. 5. In 494AD, Pope Gelasius, perhaps wanting to obscure the pagan celebrations of JunoFebruata, Lupercus and Cupid, declared February 14 as Saint Valentine's Day. 6. St. Valentine was executed by Emperor Claudius II on 14th February 270AD for secretly wedding couples against his evil decree. Emperor Claudius II had banned all weddings in order to build his army for senseless wars. 7. The sad thing about this article is that the essence of it is true. The truth hurts. I just hope this sets more Black people in motion towards making real progress. They have gained the opportunity to read any book on any subject through the efforts of their fight for freedom, yet they refuse to read.
