Goodbye July

At the end ...

When it's all said and done and many find out that the grass was not greener on the other side nor was there peace, they soon request to be returned as returnees, or get deported as deportees. This is the case of those who survive. While many others died. If you must travel  1. Have a plan 2. Have a passport and visa 3. Have some money 4. Have loved ones to support you Most of all 5. Get the leading of the Holy Spirit of God Almighty In TLF we say, #July #NoToBondage #JoinUs
TLF Activities We usually go to showcase inspirational, motivational and encouraging movies in schools and churches, and even on the streets.  This picture was taken at the Federal Polytechnic, Ado where we showed a movie to some of the students. We have numerous I.M.E. movies, short videos and other things we would love to share to the public and we have most of our equipments and logistics. We however need more volunteers who would help with the technical set-up, transportation and follow-up. While growing up, I witnessed movies were organised in large Lecture Theatres, and were a great source of influence. It is not just to bring people together, but ensure they leave with a message for life and eternity from what we show. We are not entertainers but strive to see a society more sensible, sensitive and loving. Kindly contact us with contributions, inquiries and suggestions. Thank you.

Month Review

This month we looked at sub-issues under the theme Trafficking! Trafficking can be likened to bondage or slavery. The United Nations enjoins nations to take seriously the issue of trafficking as it declared 30th of July of every year to sensitise the public on the issue. Remember in June we dealt with the theme of Work. But not all works are approved by God and the society and the government. Work that makes you give up your birthright as a born again into God's family must be rejected.  Trafficking for greener pastures does not glorify God but demeans the human person, and can even result in loss of life. Most of the attempt to curb trafficking by the country of exit and the country of entry have mostly been hit by political and economic saboteurs.  As Christians we know God is our Provider and provision come from above and not abroad. God will use whatever is legitimate for us to succeed, for our success must give Him glory. Inasmuch as we are fighting many iss

The desire to leave one's own country to another illegally is not only a Nigerian or African problem. It spreads all over Europe, North Korea, Mexico, and many other countries. Someone living in USA stated that, "just because you come here (USA), doesn't mean you'll have a better life. i watched a documentary a few years back about Mexicans who lived here in beat up trailers, in the middle of no where. They'd wake up at 3am every morning to walk and take the bus to work. Then they wouldn't come back to their trailer until 10pm. They were taken advantage of and overworked on farms, little pay about $5 an hour. I'm sure that's not a better life than they had at home. It's hard but i'm sure it's a lot more worth it to come here legally. My neighbor is from Mexico, he always knew he wanted to come to America so he worked for it. He went to college, got his degree back at home, learned English.. did everything he needed to

*OUR WEEKLY OUTLINE* Mondays - General Counselling and Prayers *we would agree that there is an increase in wrong decisions being taken by many with regards life and death when things don't go well. There is a need for group circle meetings where strength can be pulled from like minded people. It's the same way testimonies of believers help strengthen our faith. Tuesdays - Seminars and Workshops *based on our monthly theme we have different sub-themes from which we need to address and formulate action plans as a group. These seminars and workshops also provide opportunities to have filmshows. The effect of having audio-visual meetings can't be overestimated. Wednesdays - Ecumenism in Music *by bringing people together who have interest in music, we provide in our immediate community, the opportunity for people to sing, have spoken word poetry, learn with the few musical instruments- we have and understand the power of influence music has in every sector of the soc

THE UNITED NATIONS HAS THIS TO SAY  ABOUT OUR THEME FOR THE MONTH While it is not known how many of these victims were trafficked, the estimate implies that currently, there are millions of trafficking in persons victims in the world. Every country in the world is affected by human trafficking, whether as a country of origin, transit, or destination for victims. Children make up almost a third of all human trafficking victims worldwide, according to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime Global Report on Trafficking in Persons. Additionally, women and girls comprise 71 per cent of human trafficking victims, the report states. In 2010, the General Assembly adopted the Global Plan of Action to Combat Trafficking in Persons, urging Governments worldwide to take coordinated and consistent measures to defeat this scourge. The Plan calls for integrating the fight against human trafficking into the UN’s broader programmes in order to boost development and strengthen security worl

Pray for Our Cause

Purchase of more musical instruments- We will love for you to join us as we acquire through kind, cash or gifts more musical instruments for people to use to learn and accompany their music lessons. Besides our music activities at the Centre, we want to help re-orientate people’s tolerance with regards the type of music in vogue nowadays. The rising decadence in the society is largely as a result of evil communication found in most contemporary music lyrics and video shoots. These are corrupting the years of when music was a powerful tool in making people to be more sensible, sensitive and loving.

Pray for Our Donor

AFCON ends 19th July '19 Let's thank God For Success

Laugh but the hustle to leave Nigeria is real and sad for brain drain in Nigeria

There is a man in this picture, spot him

Expatriate and Foreigners, let's discuss

How many of us remember these pictures? They were pictures taken during the xenophobic attack of Nigerians and other foreign nationals by some South Africans, claiming that these Nigerians and foreigners were taking their jobs from them! These hard working people merely went outside their countries to seek greener pastures through legal documents. Sadly the Nigerian man beaten in these pictures died, he was murdered. This was/is a deplorable act and we in TLF totally object to it and stand against xenophobia.  *#July #NoToBondage #JoinUs*

UNITED NATIONS The United Nations designates specific days, weeks, years and decades as occasions to mark particular events or topics in order to promote, through awareness and action, the objectives of the Organization. Usually, it is one or more Member States that propose these observances and the General Assembly establishes them with a resolution. On occasion, these celebrations are declared by the specialized agencies of the United Nations, such as UNESCO, UNICEF, FAO, etc., when they concern issues that fall within the scope of their competencies. Some of them may be later adopted by the General Assembly. 11 July World Population Day (UNDP decision 89/46 15, A/RES/45/216) 15 July World Youth Skills Day (A/RES/69/145) 30 July International Day of Friendship (A/RES/65/275) 30 July World Day against Trafficking in Persons (A/RES/68/192) #July #NoToBondage #JoinUs

*6am*  *Our prayer point for the hour is-* Let's praise and thank God for bringing us to the end of this year's mid year crossover. June to July. #JUneJUly Crossover  *Our Text for the hour is-* 1 Chronicles 29:11 Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O LORD, and you are exalted as head above all.  *Let's Ponder on-* The LORD will open to you his good treasury, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hands. And you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow. (Deuteronomy 28:12) And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. (2 Corinthians 9:8) I walk in the way of righteousness, in the paths of justice, Granting an inheritance to those who love me, and filling their treas

5am

*5am*  *Our prayer point for the hour is-* Let us pray for each and everyone of us as we pray for our individual personal intentions. Just as Jesus says we should ask, seek and knock, let's ask our heavenly Father for our desires, which must be subject to His will. For the rest part of this year, let's spend this hour praying to God for our private intentions.  *Our Text for the hour is-* Psalms 91:1-2 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, "My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust."  *Let's Ponder on-* Jeremiah 17:7-8 "Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose trust is the LORD. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit."

*4am*  *Our prayer point for the hour is-* Let us pray for all who are in authorities. When we subject ourselves to authorities, it's not to the person per se but to God Who has deemed it fit to place such person in authority over us. Authorities in our homes, families, schools, churches, offices, fellowships, neighbourhoods, government and others (subject to God's will and not unto sin).  *Our Text for the hour is-* Proverbs 22:4 The reward for humility and fear of the LORD is riches and honor and life.  *Let's Ponder on-* Hebrews 13:17 Obey your leaders and be subject to them. For they watch over you, as if to render an account of your souls. So then, may they do this with joy, and not with grief. Otherwise, it would not be as helpful to you. Exodus 20:12 "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you." Ephesians 5: 21 Be subject to one another in the fear of Christ. 22 Wives sho

*3am*  *Our prayer point for the hour is-* Let us pray for direction of purpose. Knowing that a way may seem right to a man but the end is destruction. Let's pray that by the counsel of the Holy Spirit we will ever be directed in every decision we shall make, walking with God per time.  *Our Text for the hour is-* Psalms 32:8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.  *Let's Ponder on-* Isaiah 30:20-21 And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your Teacher will not hide himself anymore, but your eyes shall see your Teacher. And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, "This is the way, walk in it," when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.  *Our Song for the hour is-* When it's all been said and done There is just one thing that matters Did I do my best to live for truth? Did I live my life for you? When it's all bee

*2am* *Our prayer point for the hour is-* Let's pray for the salvation of souls. What shall it profit a man to gain the world and lose his soul? Of what use will giving people free food, clothes, water, shelter, vaccines, education, and others, as a Foundation (TLF) and not have any of the beneficiaries or donors spend eternity in the Kingdom of God. All such charities, good deeds and goodwill will only profit them for this life, if we don't also pray for the salvation of their souls, as well as ours and all donors. *Our Text for the hour is-* 1 Corinthians 2:14 The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. *Let's Ponder on-*  Psalms 14: 1 The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They were corrupted, and they have become abominable in their studies. There is no one who does good; there is not even one. 2 The Lord h

Let's pray that those who have not dedicated their lives to God through His Son Jesus Christ will do so, for there is no salvation outside of Him.  *Our Text for the hour is-* Romans 10:2-3 I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For, being ignorant of the righteousness that comes from God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness.  *Let's Ponder on-* Ezekiel 3: 20 Moreover, if the just man turns aside from his justice and commits iniquity, I will place a stumbling block before him. He shall die, because you have not announced to him. He shall die in his sin, and his justices that he did shall not be remembered.
