16 May yearly is International Day of Living Together in Peace.  ARE YOU A REASON, A SEASON, OR A LIFETIME?  Pay attention to what you read. After you read this, you will know the reason it was sent to you! People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When you figure out which one it is, you will know what to do for each person.  When someone is in your life for a REASON. . . It is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally, or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend, and they are! They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part, or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfi

May this encourage you always.   Don't spend major time with minor people for your sanity's sake. If there are people in your life that continually disappoint you,  break promises, stomp on your dreams, too judgmental, have different values and don't have your back during difficult times... that is not a friend. To have a friend, be a friend. Sometimes in life as you grow, your  friends will either grow or go. Surround yourself with people who  reflect values, goals interests and lifestyle. When I think of any of my successes, I am thankful to GOD from whom all blessings flow, and to my family and friends that enrich my life. Over the years my phone book has changed because I changed   for the better. At first you think you're going to be alone, but after a while new people show up in your life that make your life so much sweeter and easier to endure. Remember what your elders used to say, "Birds of a feather flock  together. If you're an eagle, don't hang
Be ready in season and out of season.  2 Timothy 4:2  "Knowing what season you're in." We live our lives in seasons, and seasons have beginnings and endings. So, diversity is the key to longevity. If you don't understand that you can lose your sense of purpose, because when one season is over you've nothing left to carry with you into the next. That's why successful farmers keep rotating their crops. They plant corn in one field, then when it goes out of season they plow that field and let it rest. At the same time they're busy elsewhere harvesting alfalfa to make hay, after which that field goes through the same process. In spring they change the order of things so the field where corn once grew now produces alfalfa, and so forth. When Paul told Timothy, "Be ready in season and out of season," he was encouraging him to broaden his spiritual horizons. In Timothy's case he needed to understand there's a time to correct people, and a time

The Caller

Isn't it amazing how God works in our lives! On a Saturday  night several weeks ago, this pastor was working late, and decided to call  his wife before he left for home. It was about 10:00 PM, but his wife didn't  answer the phone. The pastor let the phone ring many times. He thought it  was odd that she didn't answer, but decided to wrap up a few things and try  again in a few minutes. When he tried again she answered right  away.  He asked her why she hadn't answered before, and she said that it  hadn't rung at their house. They brushed it off as a fluke and went on their merry ways. The following Monday, the pastor received a call at the  church office, which was the phone that he'd used that Saturday night. The man that he spoke with wanted to know why he'd called on Saturday  night. The pastor couldn't figure out what the man was talking about.  Then the man said, "It rang and rang, but I didn't answer."  The pastor  remembered the m
Depression is like a deflated ball. It flattens the spirit. Why slide into depression when you can live your life sober and true. Sobriety is not despair or depression. I live a sober life.  Do you? Jesus says we should watch and pray, but did you also know that His Word tells us children of God to be sober. Being sober is being alert, aware and conscious of your decisions,  Knowing that actions have reactions and consequences.  But being "high" the opposite of being sober, Is the gyration people push for. High-life: drink and be drunk and wild, play metallic rock, dance hall, high life music and blues and become uncontrollable that even your mood can swing, take codeine and sleep long and deep, do hard drugs and be inspired to write songs, movie scripts, draw or be creative (creativity, artworks and music that has no connection with God's glory), the same drug effect has made some commit crime, rob, kill, assassinate and even rape. How can we avoid the effects of the abo

Malcolm Cloutt was named a 2021 Maundy Money honouree by Queen Elizabeth II, an annual service award given to British men and women. Cloutt, who was 100 years old at the time of the recognition, was honoured for having given out 1000 Bibles during his lifetime. Cloutt has kept a record of everyone who's received a Bible and has prayed for them regularly. - Lisa M. Folder Message

“The Professor’s Confession” By Philip Yancey This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.  Ephesians 3:6 “Community” is the place where the person you least want to live with always lives, says Henri Nouwen. Often we surround ourselves with the people we most want to live with, which forms a club or a clique, not a community. Anyone can form a club; it takes grace, shared vision, and hard work to form a community. The Christian church was the first institution in history to bring together on equal footing Jews and Gentiles, men and women, slaves and free. The apostle Paul waxed eloquent on this “mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God.” By forming a community out of diverse members, Paul said, we have the opportunity to capture the attention of the world and even the supernatural world beyond (Eph. 3:9–10). In some ways the church has sadly failed in

Be Happy

As we think of happiness let us remember those who are struggling with depression and whose lives' struggles seem to overwhelm them. Know that 10th September annually is World Suicide Prevention Day. It is a day set aside by WHO. Many people with seemingly balanced lives with schedules for work, family time and myriad of friends still end up as victims of suicide. We as humans do not have all the answers but God does. #November

Sample Opinions

One has to overcome two things to live above suicide tendency 1). Low self esteem 2). Rejection by societal standard People who commit suicide what exactly do they always think before taking their lives?  --------- When people commit suicide because of failed relationships, don’t they say they are many fishes in the river? That one way doesn’t work doesn’t mean another won’t. Dying for the wrong reasons, is so bad. Heart break shouldn’t make anyone commit suicide. It could be that it’s a blessing in disguise and a way of missing out on the calamities that partner had in stock for you. --------- The thing about life is that only God can fill the void. Only an inventor knows the purpose of his invention and how it works. Some people born to poor parents would have heard about the wealth another's father left him or her and wished it had been their own father. And then the person commits suicide and you wonder. In all your doings, know God and live a life of service to humanity. ---

Suicide is Real

Steve Bing Commits Suicide By Jumping From 27th Floor. Steve Bing, an American producer, philanthropist, and writer died by suicide at the age of 55 on Monday June 22nd after jumping from the 27th floor of a luxury apartment building in L.A.'s Century City neighborhood. He had been suffering from depression due to lack of human contact during quarantine of Covid19 in 2020. Bing founded Shangri-La Entertainment and inherited a fortune of some $600 million from his grandfather, L.A. real estate developer Leo S. Bing. After dropping out of University, Bing pursued a career in Hollywood and became the executive producer of the Sylvester Stallone film, "Get Carter," in 2000. In 2003, he co-wrote the action-comedy “Kangaroo Jack,” and he also contributed to “Missing in Action” and wrote an episode of “Married With Children.”  The philanthropist later invested some $80 million in “The Polar Express,” the Tom Hanks-voiced 2004 film directed by Robert Zemeckis. Suicide Awareness

A media personality revealed that he attempted taking his own life twice. He made this known speaking on a task titled “Mental health.” He blamed parents for not being serious about their children’s mental health. Suicide is NEVER an option. Always make people around you happy because the Nigeria of today is enough to make many people feel depressed. We have a lot of psychopaths and narcissists walking about, not excluding folks with PTSD, chronic depression, personality disorders, etc. The worst part is that these individuals are unaware of their nature, making it even harder to seek help. You hear stories of gruesome murder, and wonder how someone could get the nerve to take a life. Are these murderers actually normal people? Alas, they are always diagnosed with one mental illness or the other. If they had been confined earlier in one mental facility upon diagnose, that would have saved the society from many mayhems such people have caused and sadly, are still causing. Life is worthw

How To Avoid Becoming A Victim Of Suicide (Don't Fall Out With God) by Nifemi

How To Avoid Becoming A Victim Of Suicide (Don't Fall Out With God)  I am certain that if those who committed suicide in the past one year were asked a few years ago whether they could ever commit suicide, their answers would be "Never!" Pathetically, they carried out the act. This was because in the course of their living, they were caught in life’s storms such as illness, persecution, unfulfilled dreams or desires, failures, rape, damaged reputations, bankruptcy, loneliness, debt, hardship, misfortune, bullying, lack, death of a loved one, injustice, false accusation, pressure from loved ones and peers, losses amongst others that overwhelmed them and made them give up on life. What a pity! Life’s storms and challenges are real. However, there is nothing anyone can do concerning because they are a part and parcel of life and we must come across them. Nonetheless, there are things individuals could do to stay strong, safe and victorious in the times of storm.  In the ne

Suicide Awareness

There was a story that a mother of one who committed suicide after she cried for help on Facebook and got no help. People blamed her that she killed herself to escape hard times but left her son behind to suffer.  Who cares? no empathy! no love! No one to share your problem with. No one to help you. People don't really care what you are going through. I pray we overcome every challenges we're facing. so that we won't ask people that will mock us for help. Suicide is never an option.... Why do people take God for granted like this? Sadly, people can cross the ocean just to attend a funeral but can't cross a street to help. Also unfortunately are those professional beggars and scammers making it difficult to help those genuinely in need. These criminals must realise that they would never be better in life if they continue on this path. But we should not ignore people asking/begging us for assistance even on social media because we may not know what the person is passing t

Story Time

Air Commodore Vishal was a Jet Pilot. In a combat mission his fighter plane was destroyed by a missile. He however ejected himself and parachuted safely. He won acclaims and appreciations from many. After five years one day he was sitting with his wife in a restaurant. A man from another table came to him and said "You're Captain Vishal! You flew jet fighters. You were shot down!" "How in the world did you know that?" asked Vishal. "I packed your parachute," the man smiled and replied. Vishal gasped in surprise and gratitude and thought if parachute hadn't worked, I wouldn’t be here today. Vishal couldn't sleep that night, thinking about that man. He wondered how many times I might have seen him and not even said 'Good morning, how are you?' or anything because, he was a fighter pilot and that person was just a safety worker." So friends, who is packing your parachute? Everyone has someone who provides what they need to make it thr

Peace

The Life of Peace By Bill Crowder The peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7. In Perth, Australia, there’s a place called Shalom House where men struggling with addictions go to find help. At Shalom House, they’ll meet caring staff members who introduce them to God’s shalom (Hebrew for peace). Lives crushed under the weight of addictions to drugs, alcohol, gambling, and other destructive behaviors are being transformed by the love of God. Central to this transformation is the message of the cross. The broken people of Shalom House discover that through the resurrection of Jesus, they can find their own lives resurrected. In Christ, we gain true peace and healing. Peace isn’t merely the absence of conflict; it’s the presence of God’s wholeness. All of us need this shalom, and it’s only found in Christ and His Spirit. This is why Paul pointed the Galatians to the Spirit’s transformational work. As the Hol

Weekly Outline At Our Centre

OUR WEEKLY OUTLINE  Mondays - General Counselling and Prayers We would agree that there is an increase in wrong decisions being taken by many with regards life and death when things don't go well. There is a need for group circle meetings where strength can be pulled from like minded people. It's the same way testimonies of believers help strengthen our faith. Come for counselling and group circle meetings. Tuesdays - Seminars and Workshops   Based on our monthly theme we have different sub-themes from which we need to address and formulate action plans as a group. These seminars and workshops also provide opportunities to have filmshows. The effect of having audio-visual meetings can't be overestimated. Come we invite you to attend our weekly workshop, seminar or filmshow. Wednesdays - Ecumenism in Music By bringing people together who have interest in music, we provide in our immediate community, the opportunity for people to sing, have spoken word poetry, learn with the

Of What Impact?

I often attend Inaugural lectures wherever I find myself in academic environments in whatever field it centres on. In one of the lecture series I attended last month, I walked home with a man who asked a very pungent question. He said with all these professors and lectures what good has it brought to the society? How has Nigeria as a whole progressed? It is a food for thought. If only our numerous projects, theses and researches can leave the shelves and go to town. Money is not everything. When we get degrees is it just for our self aggrandizement or wealth? The ultimate Law is Love, so says the Bible and we align with in TLF. Love starts with a smile, grows with a trust, and ends with satisfaction. The satisfaction that all God has endowed on us and our knowledge gotten, must necessitate that we take our "gowns" to "town." Let us impact where God has sent us to. #November

UN Days for the Month of November The United Nations designates specific days, weeks, years and decades as occasions to mark particular events or topics in order to promote, through awareness and action, the objectives of the Organization. Usually, it is one or more Member States that propose these observances and the General Assembly establishes them with a resolution. On occasion, these celebrations are declared by the specialized agencies of the United Nations, such as UNESCO, UNICEF, FAO, etc., when they concern issues that fall within the scope of their competencies. Some of them may be later adopted by the General Assembly. 10 November World Science Day for Peace and Development  16 November International Day for Tolerance  19 November World Toilet Day   19 November (third Sunday in November) World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims   20 November Universal Children’s Day  21 November World Television Day   25 November International Day for the Elimination of Violence ag

Extra curricular Activity

3 June is World Bicycle Day  We at Tina Love Foundation (TLF) urge sports enthusiasts  around the world to spread their devotion to budding talents. We can use sports to achieve a better society. We notice that those who engage in sports lead better lives that stir them away from imbalance. As an extra curricular activity, bicycle riding can be used to also exercise the body. Even those who drive or are pilots can still ride bicycles. We invite those who can to invest in sports development for charity and social development.  It would give us joy in TLF where those of means can join us in  providing bicycles for people in need, and do not have access to, or cannot afford to buy one. There are people who use sports do provide scholarships to athletes and even expert bicycle riders. Such scholarships can cater for feeding, accommodation, tuition, sports practice, books and library, sports kits, among other needs.  We desire to partner with organisations and even the UN where sports such
