Month-end Picture #December # Solidarity
UN Days On the 19th of August is World Humanitarian Day  On the 5th of September is International Day of Charity  On the 16th of October is World Food Day   On the 17th of October is the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty  On the 24th of October is the United Nations  On the 10th of November is the World Science Day for Peace and Development On the 5th of December is the International Volunteer Day for Economic and Social Development  On the 10th of December is Human Rights Day  Why are these days important to us even as early as January? This is because these days play a role in adding to the sum total of our Aim and Objectives in TLF.

Month Review

This month we looked at sub-issues under the theme Solidarity ! We in TLF believe in Solidarity which ensures love. Solidarity entails acknowledging everything in another’s life while extending love in living according to God’s Word. We need to love our neighbours as ourselves and if we do not take others the way we meet them, we may find ourselves displaying superiority complex.   As a charity and social development organisation, TLF strives to ensure that all concerned- trustees, members, volunteers, beneficiaries, benefactors and all are living in the peace of God. Everyone may not have the position in life and living but we are one in Christ Jesus.  Unity is free, so also is our being children of God. Although the Bible talks a lot about love, God tells us we should not be unequally yoked with unbelievers as two cannot walk together unless they agree. So what should be our stance? TLF Centre News Thank God for His faithfulness. We have been able to ensure the upkeep of the TLF Centre. We often receive visitors and others who come to make enquiries. We have alternative power and water. But we cannot have enough of musical instruments, games and sports equipment, diesel and fuel, data credit, call credit, mementoes, bicycles, and many other things. "The Fable of Porcupine" It was the coldest winter ever. Many animals died because of the cold. The porcupines, realizing the situation, decided to group together to keep warm. This way they covered & protected themselves; but the quills of each one wounded their closest companions. After a while, they decided to distance themselves one from the other & they began to die, alone & frozen. So they had to make a choice. Either accept the quills of their companions or disappear from the Earth. Wisely, they decided to go back to being together. They learned to live with
