This month we looked at sub-issues under the theme Solidarity! We in TLF believe in Solidarity which ensures love. Solidarity entails acknowledging
everything in another’s life while extending love in living according to God’s
Word.
We need to love our neighbours as ourselves and if we
do not take others the way we meet them, we may find ourselves displaying
superiority complex.
As a charity and social development organisation, TLF
strives to ensure that all concerned- trustees, members, volunteers,
beneficiaries, benefactors and all are living in the peace of God. Everyone may
not have the position in life and living but we are one in Christ Jesus.
Unity is free, so also is our being children of God.
Although the Bible talks a lot about love, God tells us we should not be
unequally yoked with unbelievers as two cannot walk together unless they agree.
So what should be our stance? Solidarity is first among we the members of the
Body of Christ, by that we can fully function as the nose, eyes, legs, hands,
and other parts of body functions for
the common good, and secondly solidarity in our common cause to sustain the
world as God gave charge to man at creation.
The United Nations enjoins individuals to take
seriously the issue of Solidarity as
it declared among other relevant dates, 1 March Zero Discrimination Day, 21
March International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, 21 May
World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, 13 June
International Albinism Awareness Day, 11 July World Population Day, 10
September World Suicide Prevention Day, 16 November International Day for
Tolerance, 3 December International Day of Persons with Disabilities, 12
December International Day of Neutrality, 20 December International Human
Solidarity Day, all of which are marked yearly to sensitise the public on the
theme.
When Jesus is in our acts of Solidarity we
will surely enjoy unity. When people
use their solidarity to sin, scorn,
perpetuate evil and brag, like the in the Tower of Babel then you’ll know that
they have missed it.
As Christians we know God is our Father, for our
success in solidarity, we must fear God, give Him glory and allow Jesus into
our minds and our entire being solely.
Jesus Christ came to show us the example of solidarity
for Jesus prayed in John 15 and 16 that we be one just as He and God the Father
are and the Holy Spirit He has sent to us for our direction.
Happy New Year, join us and let’s make TLF grow more
in every positive way in 2020. Join as a member or volunteer or prayer partner
or benefactor or as a beneficiary. Welcome.
