International Day of Non-Violence

2nd October

International Day of Non-Violence

We commend all those individuals, groups, NGOs, Charities, Foundations and others who engage in one form of activity or the other to stop violence and bring about justice, truth and fairness.

Violence is an underlying symbol of a greater problem and it thus expresses itself with brute force, harm and pain.

God bless the labour and work of love of all those standing against violence.

May we not do anything in vain.

We invite you all to come to the TLF Centre on the 4th Sunday of this month by 4pm for the viewing of the video - Gentleman by Ric Hassani organised by TEDxPortHarcourt some years ago.

Remember blessed are the peace makers for they shall be called the sons of GOD (Matthew 5).

Remember the ultimate law is love.

God is love.

Use various ways to kick against violence, except use of violence!

Fire does not quench fire...

Let peace in...

Be bold to speak up...

Be set free from the ropes that tie our freedom,

And burn our human interactions.

There is no answer outside of God.

Your life in God is most important.

In all your research, submit to Jesus Christ and be fervent.

TLF

... the ultimate law is love.

#NextGeneration Stories

Cherokee Legend Do you know the legend of the Cherokee Indian youth's rite of Passage? His father takes him into the forest, blindfolds him and leaves him alone.  He is required to sit on a stump the whole night and not remove the blindfold until the rays of the morning sun shine through it. He cannot cry out for help from anyone.  Once he survives the night, he is a MAN. He cannot tell the other boys of this experience, because each lad must come into manhood on his own. The boy is naturally terrified. He can hear all kinds of noises. Wild beasts must surely be all around him. Maybe even some humans might do him harm. The wind blew the grass and earth, and shook his stump, but he sat stoically, never removing the blindfold. It would be the only way he could become a man! Finally, after a horrific night the sun appeared and he removed his blindfold. It was then that he discovered his father sitting on the stump next to him.    He had been at watch the entire night, p...

August Theme

Our thematic issues for this month is #NextGeneration We urge us in love to pick one of the issues under our theme for the month and help share messages, videos, pictures and matters for discussion and action plans under any of the issues. Let's dig deep into the concept of preparing the next generation of leaders, professionals, members of the society among others, which comes from God Himself right from creation and see how it improves acts of charity and social development. Humanity has survived since creation because intentional efforts have been made to prepare for generations to generations. Families birth those who'd constitute the next generation. If we don't prepare the next generation, we'd have a retrogressive situation which is highly preventable. #NextGeneration #August TLF 💚
