We all have beginnings which can be determined by those who were present, but our ends are mostly unknown to us. We have the opportunity between life and death to make our existence count by doing just what the Creator, God Alighty made us for.
Dr. Adadevoh died because of the contact she had with the American-Liberian Patrick Sawyer who came into Nigeria infected with the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD). She was a medical doctor in the private hospital Mr. Sawyer came to for treatment. Her act of preventing him from leaving the hospital saved the lives of numerous others who would have been in contact with him. She paid the ultimate price in dying in isolation and sickness. She died a heroin and will be remembered in the hearts of many and in the annals of history. May God grant her loved ones fortitude and favour in Jesus name, amen.
Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen said,
“Imagine the funeral service of a person who had lived in sacramental and mystic union with Christ throughout his life. His body is dead beyond all doubt, but his soul lives, not only with natural immortality, which it possesses, but with the very life of God. Suppose a pallbearer standing nearby is in the state of sin. In the eyes of God, it is the pallbearer who really is dead and if we were spiritually minded, we would weep over him and chant a requiem over his soul rather than the departed one. The real death is not the death of the body, but the death of the soul.” Archbishop Fulton Sheen (From the Angel’s Blackboard)
