Goodafternoon beloved,
I received this message and chose to modify and ruminate on it-
A true professor who goes beyond just teaching academics but life lessons at his class began to talk to a student sitting in front and asked him, “If I squeeze this orange, what will I get?”
He answered, “Juice!”
The professor said, “Don’t you think I could squeeze apple juice from the orange?”
Laughing, he said “No.”
He repeated his question, “Why? Why would I get orange juice from an orange?”
He answered, “Well, it is an orange, and that is what it has on the inside.”
The professor nodded and said, “That’s right! Let’s think that this is not an orange, but it is you.
Someone puts pressure on you and says something you don’t like.
You get offended.
Fear, bitterness, hatred, and anger come out of you.
Why did this happen?”
The student answered, “Because those things are on the inside.”
Now we have to consider what’s inside of you and me, because the Bibke says in Matthew 15:18 that, “But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.”
Through the course of His life on earth, Jesus was squeezed and forgiveness, wisdom, love, and mercy came out of Him. He taught us that regardless of people insulting, beating, humiliating, and treating Him worse than a criminal; He just showed love and forgiveness!
Let’s be filled with that love that comes from God, and let’s live each day by His side. Many of us here and others who know about TLF and want to give because of their love for me and the causes we believe in. But life, fear, lack and pressing obligations and even forgetting hinders some. While some come through. Thanks. I believe when we give, it's God we give to whether in or out of a church or within or outside your families. But as we learn to give, we must also learn to receive because when God chooses to bless us, He uses people also. All kinds of people! So we must not allow pride or prejudice stop us from giving or receiving so we don't deny ourselves or others receive their blessings from God.
A young boy whose birthday was 24th of September once gave TLF N50. I know that money meant something to him, but what he did not know was that it also meant something to us as well as God. God blessed him. He lost his mum at birth and now lives with his grandmother but he's one of the happiest boys you'd meet. If I didn't receive that money from him on behalf of TLF I'd have made him unhappy! God bless him. For I know the joy I feel when I and others with me use the funds, books and other items donated by friends, members, trustees and benefactors of TLF for the purposes for which they were given.
Now the question that we must ask ourselves is,
"What comes out when I am squeezed?" God knows what I'm dealing with. He knows my weaknesses and they are not what I glory in or brag about. As God continues to work on us, I pray we bring out wisdom, love, forgiveness, joy and peace, when we are squeezed, amen.
