PERSEVERANCE

"Blessed is the man who perseveres." James 1:12   The power of perseverance Ever seen one of those inflatable clowns with a round base? When you knock him down he bounces back up wearing a big, cheesy grin! Perseverance: it's a powerful tool! The Bible says, "Blessed is the man who perseveres." Paul was flogged, shipwrecked, persecuted, and imprisoned in establishments without weight rooms, HDTV, and time off for good behavior! He could have thrown in the towel, but instead he said, "I have no regrets. I couldn't be more sure of my ground - the One I've trusted in can take care of...me...to the end" (2 Timothy 1:12). Can you say that? God isn't impressed by human ability, dynamic personalities, titles, and designer clothes. He respects people who, when they get knocked down, bounce back with their faith intact, more determined than ever to live for Him. It's Satan's job to attack you - it's your job to fight back. If you are pas...

Our Theme In TLF For November

Our thematic issue for this month is  Sanity  aka  Balance  aka  Extra-Curricular Activities We urge us in love to pick one of the issues under our theme for the month and help share messages, videos, pictures and matters for discussion and development of action plans under any of the issues. Let's try and review the need for Sanity aka Balance aka Extra-Curricular Activities and the ideal of wholesomeness which God says in His Word with regards the way Jesus grew up, and let’s see how it improves acts of charity and social development. #November  Thanks  God loves us all. UN Days for the Month of October

The United Nations designates specific days, weeks, years and decades as occasions to mark particular events or topics in order to promote, through awareness and action, the objectives of the Organization. Usually, it is one or more Member States that propose these observances and the General Assembly establishes them with a resolution. On occasion, these celebrations are declared by the specialized agencies of the United Nations, such as UNESCO, UNICEF, FAO, etc., when they concern issues that fall within the scope of their competencies. Some of them may be later adopted by the General Assembly. 1 October International Day of Older Persons  2 October International Day of Non-Violence   5 October World Teachers’ Day [UNESCO]  10 October World Mental Health Day [WHO] 11 October International Day of the Girl Child   13 October International Day for Disaster Reduction 15 October International Day of Rural Women 16 October World Food Day [FAO] ...

October Theme is Non-Violence aka Girls to Women

October Theme is Non-Violence aka Girls to Women Our thematic issues for this month is #Non-Violence aka Girls to Women  The issue of violence can spread from domestic issues such as child and spousal violence in the family unit to world issues on violence such as terrorism. But we must realise that both at the domestic level and world level, the child, especially the female child, and women are mostly the victims on the receiving end of all such violence. Violence cuts across several factors. In this month however, as we focus on violence, the prevention thereof and standing against therein, we want to also agitate for the celebration, protection and care of the girl child and women. Thanks  God loves us all. #October  Thanks  God loves us all. TLF💚

Happy New Month From All Of Us

Month Review

This month we looked at sub-issues under the theme  Literacy   a.k.a.   Learning !  Literacy  entails both formal and informal trainings and tutelage.  It involves the student and the teacher. The United Nations enjoins nations to take seriously the issue of Learning and Literacy as it declared 8th September yearly as International Literacy Day every year to sensitise the public on the issue. Remember in May we dealt with the theme of Communication. Just as communication is important to impact knowledge, we acknowledge that English language has been used in Nigeria as a means of learning. We also celebrate our individual languages and recognise that learning and literacy is also important with our languages. While we are to obey our teachers, we are not expected to allow them or seniors in school to lead us astray or teach us nonsense!  When Jesus is in our learning we will be humble and useful. When people use their learning and literacy to oppress, d...

Story Time!

A young man was getting ready to graduate College. For many months he  had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealers' showroom, and knowing  his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted. As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited signs that his  father had purchased the car. Finally, on the morning of his  graduation his father called him into his private study. His father  told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how  much he loved him. He handed his son beautiful wrapped box.  Curious, but somewhat disappointed the young man opened the box and f ound a lovely, leather bound BIBLE.  Angrily, he raised his voice at his father and said, "With all your  money you give me a BIBLE?" he stormed out of the house ,leaving the  holy book. He never contacted his father again for a long time. Many  years passed and the young man was very successful in business. He had a beautiful home a...
Donation for the construction of more bookshelves- We will love for you to join us as we raise a minimum of N500 for the payment of stipends for our volunteers who come. Even though the word is voluntary but still they need support in terms of transportation and other things. Without teachers who volunteer to teach music, arts, craft, sports, games, and during our seminars, the TLF Centre will be dormant, locked up and ineffective, God forbid. Besides this financial donation we would also request that you join us to volunteer your time or any other thing that can encourage volunteers and keep them committed. Imagine that this 10 year old Nigerian Maths Genius, Esther Okade has enrolled in Open University, UK. Esther is a British-Nigerian who hails from Walsall. With volunteers we can make the children in the centre even excel more in chess, English spelling bee, violin, piano, mathematics and even science. #September TLF

TLF Centre News

TLF Centre News The names Abadina and Ajibode may sound either familiar or unfamiliar to many of us here. These are schools that we have had the privilege to donate school items to and speak. These schools have produced great people in the society. But like many other schools, some of these people have failed to return to right the wrong, support in cash and kind, volunteer to teach, counsel and offer mentorship or just generally encourage the staff and students. Our TLF activities have been subsumed in the SBMC which now exists in government owned schools. We attended the trainings and were given stipends. Our mummy Akpofure and brother Ifeanyi and I were present at different days. We learnt a lot and we commit to making the schools around us better functional and catered for. The projects on ground by the SBMC and PTA of these government schools are big and need financial support. Take for instance the Estate Primary School were we all use for voting in our community is in need of a ...

FOR FRIENDS OF TINA LOVE FOUNDATION (TLF)

God still sits on the throne. Each of you may be going through a tough time right now but God is getting ready to bless you in a way that only He can. Keep the faith.  Let's continue to pray for one another.  I think it is a great issue that although there are many people who profess and confess Christianity and Christ but have their hearts far from him, so much so that very few people get led to Jesus by our 'witnessing' in lifestyles not our words. It is kinda embarrassing and sad that we have so many pastors, Christians, churches and ministries (tract, TV, gospel musicians, gospel movies, etc) and yet evil prevails and many are still without Jesus! these remaining ones who are not believers in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour are not the ones who perpetuate these evils majorly. its still done by 'Christians' or people who profess fear of God in other faiths! na wa oh !  I'm starting with myself, let my life bear witness of God's mercy, grace and way, tru...

Let's pray that she shall be blessed abundantly with God always on her side, in Jesus name, amen. #pray for one another #September

Today is International Literacy Day

Today is our D Day in our theme for this month of September! Thank God for bringing us to this day! What is your price for literacy? If education is expensive, they say, try ignorance! People perish for lack of knowledge, hence, ignorance is opposite of knowledge.  _Lo and behold_ how can someone be literate and still be brutish, unrefined and ignorant? We must encourage literacy and pursuit of education. Ultimately it would lead to increase in the development of the society. We invite you to support NGOs, Foundations and Organisations which support educational grants,  renovations of schools, scholarships, prizes for best brains, innovation and creativity; TLF is one of such. We have outlined 4 schools to visit this month, 2 being public and 2 private. We intend to inspire, motivate and encourage the staff and students and give as we can. You are welcome to key into our activities. Thank you and God bless. Tina  For: TLF 💚

International Literacy Day is Today, our D Day

8th September is International Literacy Day (UNESCO) Today is World Literacy Day and it's also the theme for the month of September in Tina Love Foundation (TLF). We alternate it in some years with #Learning. What's literacy for us? Formal and Informal Education! Without the basic tools of reading and writing, informal education is difficult. Without the basic knowledge of skills, reading and writing can't be put to use. For us at TLF this year we shall be throwing it open to everyone to join us support children going back to school. Some states in Nigeria resumed today September 8 like Edo, Lagos and others, some are resuming next week. How can we support children going back to school? Dear grandparents we know in your time things were not this ridiculously expensive but guess what? Older siblings do not pass on their old textbooks to their younger ones any more in most schools. They buy new ones. Dear parents we know you too are spending on your children, but guess what? ...

Our Tracts

Join us to share our tracts. Please anywhere you see our tracts help ensure they reach the readers and are not destroyed or mutilated. We urge you to come to our Office to get copies to help us share at home and abroad. You can also write for us and\or donate to printing and publication. If we try this many people will rush to the TLF Centre in greater number that they are currently doing. But we want to change this narrative and encourage reading. We have many books which we also have their video depictions. We also have audio books and ebooks. Let’s encourage reading of physical books, they help us stay focused. Reading from the internet provides a wide range of distractions from pop up adverts to suggested links!!! ... the ultimate law is love. Thank you. #September TLF💚

Urgent Call For Help

We need help in raising funds for a new born baby who was born with some challenges. We have been to the hospital and met the mother and medical officers. We as an NGO have given our donation. But the father and mother still need more money for their baby to undergo surgery and be fit to go home. She's a baby girl and we know God Almighty will grant her divine healing and health. Let us support in any way we can. Kindly make donations to - Tina Love Foundation  GTB  0033315918 For onward transfer to the hospital directly by us. We know the parents too have spent a lot and need money, but for now let us focus on baby. School resumes on Monday but please let us spread this so many people can make their own donations. We have no target so as not to pressure anyone, but know that Medicare is sadly expensive (even when some people are on Medical Insurance). Let God use us to make this happen! Thank you and God bless. TLF 💚

TLF Tertiary is on Facebook

Did You Know? In TLF we are big on education at all levels. We know that September is a month for the beginning of a new session at all levels. While interruptions may occur at the tertiary level, secondary and primary schools have stable academic calendars. Having experienced tertiary education in University of Benin, University of Ibadan, Afe Babalola University and University of Ilorin not to forget the Nigerian Law School, there is the urgent need to cater for the needs of the tertiary environment - staff and students. We also give special mention to those with businesses, religious centres, visitors and parents of those in tertiary institutions. Take for instance in our theme in this month of September especially, focus is completely on issues of literacy and learning. The role of the tertiary institutions we have in Nigeria cannot be overestimated in terms of charity and social development. The tertiary institution is often seen as the finishing school of every individual who has...

Our September Theme is Literacy

Greetings in love! Please note that September 8 is the D day for our theme as that day marks World Literacy Day! Many primary and secondary schools would also be resuming a new academic session that day also. As we look forward to that day, let us pray for parents, teachers, students, pupils, school administrators and workers. Let us also pray for the government, whose policies have far reaching effects on the literacy rate of it's citizens. We at TLF look forward to visiting schools this term as usual as we give us teaching aids, encourage the staff, motivate the parents and inspire the children.  We invite you to support our back to school outreach as we purchase biros, pencils, bags, shoes, sandals, canvasses, maths set and other items for children who cannot afford it and also as prizes for those who would resume early, paper neat and show good behaviour. Not forgetting the same for the staff. Thank you for always being there for TLF, we do not take it for granted! I.M.E S.S.L ...

Month Review

This month we looked at sub-issues under the theme Family! Family entails the father, mother, child who becomes a youth, then an adult and then a father or mother. The United Nations enjoins nations to take seriously the issue of Family and Youth as it declared 15th May as International Day of Families and  12th August as International Youth Day every year to sensitize the public on the issue. Remember in July we dealt with the theme of Trafficking. But our families ought to provide the bedrock that provides support, encouragement, love and the fortitude to resist lures or reasons into slavery, bondage and trafficking. While we are to obey our parents, we are not expected to allow them or siblings send us away into slavery, bondage and to be trafficked. When Jesus is in the family it is a happy home and it glorifies God but upholds the sanctity of the institution and human person. As Christians we know God is our Father, for our success in having godly families, we must give Him gl...
Jenny was so happy about the house they had found. For once in her life 'twas on the right side of town. She unpacked her things with such great ease. As she watched her new curtains blow in the breeze. How wonderful it was to have her own room. School would be starting; she'd have friends over soon. There'd be sleep-overs, and parties; she was so happy It's just the way she wanted her life to be. On the first day of school, everything went great. She made new friends and even got a date! She thought, "I want to be popular and I'm going to be, Because I just got a date with the star of the team!" To be known in this school you had to have clout, And dating this guy would sure help her out. There was only one problem stopping her fate. Her parents had said she was too young to date. "Well I just won't tell them the entire truth. They won't know the difference; what's there to lose?" Jenny asked to stay with her friends that night. Her ...
