August Theme D Day: 12th of August is International Youth Day

12th of August is International Youth Day.

We commend all those individuals, groups, NGOs, Charities, Foundations and others who engage in one form of activities or the other to help shape the future of the youths in the society.

God bless your labour and work of love.

May we not do anything in vain.

Remember -

Proverbs 20:29 The glory of young men is their strength, And the splendor of old men is their gray head.

Titus 2:6 Likewise exhort the young men to be sober-minded

Ecclesiastes 12: 1 Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, Before the difficult days come, And the years draw near when you say, "I have no pleasure in them":

We in TLF are celebrating this D Day in our theme which bothers on family and youth.

You are invited to attend our viewing of -

"Changing the Way We Think About the Future" by Oluwafolabomi Olujimi    at TEDxCushingAcademy and “My wakeup call” by Chude Ikenna Azuike organised by TEDxEuston.

We commend the speaker and give kudos to the organisers.

You too can organise such a wonderful event.

In TLF we inspire, motivate and encourage!

Do you ever wonder why more youths are being harnessed into all sorts of illicit ways such as drugs, alcohol, sleep and food abuse, immoral music, entertainment, reality shows and movies, among many others?

But we must do something.

We are the light and salt of the earth.

Why should parents and even the entire family of a youth stand and watch he\r go along the path of destruction?

Are we not bothered?

PRAY FOR NIGERIAN YOUTHS AND CHILDREN. Eccl.11:9, 10; 12:1; Lam. 3:27

Youths are the strength and future of a nation and there is need to invest in them- ethics, values, character

and education. Statistics has it that 45%- 48% of our population are youths.

• Thank God for blessing Nigeria with a high population of youths.

• Pray and release youths and children of this nation from the spirit of rebellion, witchcraft,

violence, pornography, the spirit of mammon, etc, (Isa. 49:24-26).

• Pray to God to break and convict the hearts of these young ones with the things that break His

Heart, (Psalm 51:17; Isaiah 19:1).

• Pray for the youths of Nigeria to return to the Lord, (Mal. 4:4-6).

• Declare that our children and youths shall be (i) useful to their parents as arrows are to archers

(ii) they shall not bring shame to their parents and this nation

(iii) they shall be bold in the face of

challenges and overcome all forms of negative influences

(iv) they shall be sources of wealth and blessings to their families, (Psalm 127:4 – 5; 128:3; Prov. 22:6).

• Pray for the proper upbringing of children and youths at homes and schools, (Prov. 22:6).

• Pray that youths should become patriotic to national values, (Psa. 105:17-22; 1 Sam. 17:34-37)

• Pray that youths will become truly obedient to their parents, (Ephesians 6:1 – 3).

Remember the ultimate law is love.

God is love.

There is no answer outside of God.

Your life in God is most important.

In your youth, submit to Jesus Christ and be fervent.

... the ultimate law is love.

Story Time

Lisungu Chieza from Zimbabwe was 26 when she was told in 1996 that she was HIV+. "This started my long journey of coping with being HIV+. My husband died in my arms at home eight months later." Not only did Lisungu have to cope with her own illness and losing her husband, but her husband's family also wrongly blamed her for his death. They came to her house, took away his things, and said, "If those children of yours get sick, don't even call us. We won't have anything to do with them or you." They would not even let her go to her husband's burial. "I gave up a college course I had planned to do. All I thought about was death. I neglected my children and myself." But her mother supported her. Lisungu began to find hope again and joined an HIV support group. Then she started to help others who were also HIV+, and took a college course about HIV-AIDS. She spoke at HIV meetings with the young people in her church. She believes that it is ver...
