Awareness

Do you know that God has given us many talents and abilities, to be used for His glory and honour. We are made to please Him, the way we seek to please the ones we love and who love us. We speak out vehemently against secular musicians and movies which add nothing to the body of Christ but gratify the human fans of the industry who dictate what should be produced to please them. Many of us who claim to the Church of God do not listen to songs of God’s kingdom which tell of His glory. We do not patronize gospel musicians and movies therefore their industry is starved of funds and pushes many of them to the secular industry. Remember we will give account to God of the talents He has given us and also how we spent our time. When you listen to, watch and encourage secular artistes you are indirectly putting man above God. This is because secular media is all about what the majority of the fan base want- human satisfaction. Profanity, vulgarity, blasphemy, indecency, purposelessness, lack of- lessons, morals, knowledge or edification exists in secular media, after which the recipients either remain the same or plunge deeper into iniquity and sin; thus going further away from God.
Be aware today that you can break free from the secular world and represent He Who you believe in, by what you sing, listen to, watch and pay for.

Story Time

Lisungu Chieza from Zimbabwe was 26 when she was told in 1996 that she was HIV+. "This started my long journey of coping with being HIV+. My husband died in my arms at home eight months later." Not only did Lisungu have to cope with her own illness and losing her husband, but her husband's family also wrongly blamed her for his death. They came to her house, took away his things, and said, "If those children of yours get sick, don't even call us. We won't have anything to do with them or you." They would not even let her go to her husband's burial. "I gave up a college course I had planned to do. All I thought about was death. I neglected my children and myself." But her mother supported her. Lisungu began to find hope again and joined an HIV support group. Then she started to help others who were also HIV+, and took a college course about HIV-AIDS. She spoke at HIV meetings with the young people in her church. She believes that it is ver...
