Greetings dear TLF family and friends,
I read a question yesterday asking how would you personally define success and how will you know when you are successful?
I wish to repeat this question here as a side.
The main issue is that many of us desire to help, but sadly we may not have the money to. When we do, we either forget or get caught up in never ending needs, wants and demands from family, friends and fair weather friends.
Personally I write a list of people, organisations and projects I desire to give money or money's worth of items or visit to whenever I have, not when I have excess oh. I was able to do this last in an extensive way in 2013/2014, then on a lesser note till about towards the end of this 2017.
I wonder now if going by the responses i read yesterday if success is when you are able to respond and help majority of the people who come to you for one form of help to the other?
Going through one of the lowest ebbs of mine financially, I have had more people, groups and bodies ask me for money between January to November this year than when I conveniently had! My lessons are overwhelming. One major lesson I have learnt is that truly in our weakness God is strong and God will never share His glory with any man. When we conveniently have money and we give, the presence of sacrifice is rare. Also we tend to take the glory and gloat. Also we tend to look to ourselves and not to God.
I apologise to everyone who has asked me for help especially financially and i could not oblige, or turn a loan to dash. The simple reason of apologising is that, we all give with recourse to what we have. When Peter asked Jesus about paying tax, Jesus did not have the money in His pocket but called it forth from the belly of the fish! Jesus never bordered about money but He had what He wanted. He teaches that we are more important than the sparrows.
Ever wondered why really rich people still pursue after money drastically, fight for free things and are stingy over pittance? It's because they are afraid of not having by themselves, money is their god and they do not trust God.
For a long time since I can remember I have chosen not to make money an issue in my life. I live prudently, contentedly and generously to myself and others and God has always miraculously provided for me. The Spirit of God instructs me against stealing, coveting, greed, selfishness, deceiving, padding and fraud. My prayer to Jesus Christ my Lord is to have enough for myself and others just as 2 Corinthians 9:8 says.
Yes, I am successful by the grace of God, and I look forward to more ways and avenues to help others financially and otherwise. When we envision having a property for TLF that is permanent and self owned by the Foundation it looks like an overwhelming project. We wonder if we who may not have our personal properties are called upon to donate how we would build our own and help ourselves? But God is over all. I know for a fact and truth that neither I personally nor TLF can afford a permanent office for TLF but in God I trust. God forbid i limit Him or my expectations. I pray the next person or reason or course that comes to me for monetary help will not be turned away by me personally or by TLF as an organisation with its personal account and money. Like Jesus i will call forth money when it is needed. I pray that all who I ask for financial help will respond according to the will of God, amen.
With notice to the beneficiary,
