Theme Picture

Remember our thematic issue for this month is Environment.
What we have done in TLF is to harmonise the different days from each month and place under a theme for each month. In this month we would see how advocating for the Environment can help reawaken our responsibilities towards the creation God commanded man to cater for.
Consider that the 11th of December is International Mountain Day which is one aspect of our environment.

Also note that 3rd of March is World Wildlife Day, 21st of March is International Day of Forests and 17th of June is World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought. The relationship between forests reserves and desertification cannot be over debated.
With regards aspects of our environment concerned with water 22nd of March is World Water Day,  5th of June is International Day for the Fight against Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated Fishing and 8th of June is World Oceans Day.
Other days that are relevant in safeguarding our environment that are directly related to our environment also include the 29th of August which is International Day against Nuclear Tests and 23rd of March which is World Meteorological Day.

The major day with regards of theme however is 5th of June is World Environment Day.
Walk with us and let us take this issue of the Environment theme of the month of TLF very seriously as the earth sits on nature. We urge us in love to pick one of the issues under our theme for the month and help share messages, videos, pictures and matters for discussion and development of action plans under any of the issues.

Let's try and review the need preserve our Environment and the ideal of stewardship which God says in His Word with regards the creation of humans, and let’s see how it improves acts of charity and social development.

Story Time

Lisungu Chieza from Zimbabwe was 26 when she was told in 1996 that she was HIV+. "This started my long journey of coping with being HIV+. My husband died in my arms at home eight months later." Not only did Lisungu have to cope with her own illness and losing her husband, but her husband's family also wrongly blamed her for his death. They came to her house, took away his things, and said, "If those children of yours get sick, don't even call us. We won't have anything to do with them or you." They would not even let her go to her husband's burial. "I gave up a college course I had planned to do. All I thought about was death. I neglected my children and myself." But her mother supported her. Lisungu began to find hope again and joined an HIV support group. Then she started to help others who were also HIV+, and took a college course about HIV-AIDS. She spoke at HIV meetings with the young people in her church. She believes that it is ver...
