Whatsapp Message

There was a viral Whatsapp video that depicted how 2 female students fought so badly in a school that people who watched the video thought one of the girls died because at the end of the video she was unresponsive.

 

However, we know that violence and such other vices abound in schools, whether public, private or religious.

 

What can we do to reduce these vices and violence?

 

21st of March annually is World Poetry Day.

In TLF we encourage students especially tertiary students to come to our Centre every Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays where and when they can express their feelings and opinion towards these issues through spoken word poetry.

 

We all can do our part to provide solutions for social development.

We thank those who have been charitable in providing us with needed equipments and items to aid our spoken word poetry activities.

  Lisungu Chieza from Zimbabwe was 26 when she was told in 1996 that she was HIV+. "This started my long journey of coping with being HIV+. My husband died in my arms at home eight months later." Not only did Lisungu have to cope with her own illness and losing her husband, but her husband's family also wrongly blamed her for his death. They came to her house, took away his things, and said, "If those children of yours get sick, don't even call us. We won't have anything to do with them or you."
