Greetings in the name of the Lord God of mercy, love and judgment,

Isaiah 66:5 Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name's sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.

Reading through the Holy Bible really truly helps us all to understand God's plan and purpose for all His creation.

It's sad that people who are not Christians or who outrightly hate the things of Jesus Christ seem to read, know and quote the Scriptures more than us.

Can someone know more about our homes, our spouses, our children, our parents, our business, our personal lives or our emotions and state of mind over and above us?

We spend time getting to know more about ourselves and those we love;
About politics and the state of the nation; About football clubs and fashion trends; About our health and food choices;
About new investments, technologies and business opportunities.

Not to mention all the bad news flying over the social media!

We know and desire so much of the world that we often forget that God is the same, yesterday, today and forever, being God He will never pass away, but all the things we concern ourselves with will all pass away.

They will all become irrelevant and inconsequential. Once upon a time common entrance, Junior WAEC and JAMB were of great concern to us!

For some of us it was where we were going to serve;
it was where we were going to work;
it was how the wedding day will be;
it was how the labour ward will be;
it was about one thing or the other that has now taken the back seat for something new.

Some years ago we learnt of the injustice of the Aluu 4 of Rivers State, Now we are hearing of the girl who Peper was inserted in her private part in Benin City, Edo state. We once heard of the injustice of several workers laid off from the producers of Lacasera, MTN and several banks, Now we are hearing that the former staff of Nigerian Airways of yesteryear have been paid their dues.

Jesus said the poor will always be with us, not to make us angry, helpless or indifferent, but for us to know that God will always be there and able to meet every need.

When one person's need has been met and he goes his way, another person is born or comes along with a need also.

So we would always hear news of social injustice around us and subsequent social justice as we go on in life.

Our duty therefore is to help reduce when possible, or eradicate when possible,
or create the awareness when possible,
or to raise public outcry when necessary,
or influence policy makers to address the injustice when feasible,
or stand against such injustice when the time comes.

How many of us will join in jungle justice? Or vote buying? Or cover up of a criminal you know? Or kill a bill which would address an injustice? How many us will be agents of social justice?

As the year moves, as the month of February moves, let's be reminded that TLF does not just provide consumables (in form of charity) but works for lasting policies, positions and stands (social development).

Let's stand for social justice!

Story Time

  Lisungu Chieza from Zimbabwe was 26 when she was told in 1996 that she was HIV+. "This started my long journey of coping with being HIV+. My husband died in my arms at home eight months later." Not only did Lisungu have to cope with her own illness and losing her husband, but her husband's family also wrongly blamed her for his death. They came to her house, took away his things, and said, "If those children of yours get sick, don't even call us. We won't have anything to do with them or you." They would not even let her go to her husband's burial. "I gave up a college course I had planned to do. All I thought about was death. I neglected my children and myself." But her mother supported her. Lisungu began to find hope again and joined an HIV support group. Then she started to help others who were also HIV+, and took a college course about HIV-AIDS. She spoke at HIV meetings with the young people in her church. She believes that it is ver...

Today is the second part of our D Day for the month of August!

Today is the second part of our D Day for the month of August! Although this celebration is marked in the month of May, we have harmonised all relevant sub-themes dealing with family and youth under this month of August.  15th of May is International Day of Families.  We commend all those individuals, groups, NGOs, Charities, Foundations and others who engage in one form of activity or the other to promote wholesome family life and the true meaning of family.  God bless your labour and work of love. May we not do anything in vain. Remember - Matthew 12:49 And He stretched out His hand toward His disciples and said, "Here are My mother and My brothers! Psalm 113:Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity! You are invited to attend our viewing of - "Loneliness is literally killing us" by Will Wright at TEDxBirmingham . We commend the speaker and give kudos to the organisers.
