Seminar and film-shows

Isaiah  21:6  For thus hath the LORD said unto me, Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he seeth.

....................
By God's grace in 2019 to God’s glory we would have our filmshow and seminar every month.

How can you be part of this activity of TLF?
Reach us in our centre where you can attend our viewing and semjnars. Aside our filmshows we would also have our TED talks viewing as indicated in our monthly themes.
In such film-shows and seminars we would be glad if we had refreshments, alternative power source and mementoes to share so you can also donate cash into our account for us to carter for these.

At least once in every term (every 4 months) we would hold our filmshow and seminar outside our centre in places like the remand homes, schools, on the streets, and other places.

Let's get people informed through audio-visual to pass on our message of love and social development.

I remember a group that came to my law school to show Truth of Hip Hop (2008).
I remember Uncle E who came to my primary school to act for us twice (1990, 1993).
I remember movies that were organised at 500 Lt for the public (1988).
I remember the SBMC seminar organised by the state ministry of education where TLF was invited (2018).
I remember the viewing of Animal Farm and the EDWI organised at the Oba Akenzua cultural centre (2000, 2017)
And for the many people who have donated funds to our our own seminars and film-shows we have organised over the years (2009 - date) and those who have benefitted from our free viewing,

I SAY A BIG THANK YOU.

Nehimiah 8:3 And he read it openly in the street which was before the water gate, from morning even until midday, in the sight of the men and women, and those who understood. And the ears of all the people were attentive to the book.
4 Then Ezra the scribe stood upon a step of wood, which he had made for speaking...
5 And Ezra opened the book before all the people. For he stood out above all the people. And when he had opened it, all the people stood up..

Story Time

Lisungu Chieza from Zimbabwe was 26 when she was told in 1996 that she was HIV+. "This started my long journey of coping with being HIV+. My husband died in my arms at home eight months later." Not only did Lisungu have to cope with her own illness and losing her husband, but her husband's family also wrongly blamed her for his death. They came to her house, took away his things, and said, "If those children of yours get sick, don't even call us. We won't have anything to do with them or you." They would not even let her go to her husband's burial. "I gave up a college course I had planned to do. All I thought about was death. I neglected my children and myself." But her mother supported her. Lisungu began to find hope again and joined an HIV support group. Then she started to help others who were also HIV+, and took a college course about HIV-AIDS. She spoke at HIV meetings with the young people in her church. She believes that it is ver...

Why Do You Smoke?

6 personalized approaches to quitting forever.  Everyone smokes—and quits—for different reasons, and the key to getting smoke-free for life is to find out why you are smoking and then change those behaviors. If you are a Recreational or Social Smoker, you may feel that your limited smoking poses no serious medical harm to yourself or others. You may, however, ignore warning signs that your occasional smoking is progressing into addiction, especially during periods of stress or increased alcohol use. A periodic review of these warning signs may help motivate you to consider becoming smoke-free. The Scared-to-Quit Smoker has no end of reasons (excuses) to put off going smoke-free to some future date. Sometimes it helps to focus on just quitting for one day. If you can quit for a day, you can quit every day. This realization can be a great confidence builder, and helps to decrease your fears about not smoking “ever again.” Forever is too big a word for many addicts; thus the old adage...
