From the hour of 7pm
Our focus will be on
Social Justice

Prayer -
Almighty God we praise and thank You. Every day we hear very negative news from home and abroad. We hear of how people are unjustly killed, arrested, attacked, sacked and even detained. We hear so much of injustice and we know only You can give us the wisdom to know how to solve these problems and stand up for social justice wherever we are, in Jesus name, amen.

Praise -
Whatsoever you do, to the least of my brethren that you do unto me
When I was hungry you gave me to eat
When I was thirsty you gave me to drink
Now enter into the home of my Father
When I was homeless you opened your door
When I was naked you gave me your coat
Now enter into the home of my Father
When I was weary you helped me find rest
When I was anxious you calmed all my fears Now enter into the home of my Father
When I was restless you listened and cared
When I was lonely you gave me your love
Now enter into the home of my Father
When in a prison you came to my cell
When on a sick bed you cared for my need
Now enter into the home of my Father
In a strange country you made me at home
Seeking employment you found me a job
Now enter into the home of my Father
Hurt in the battle you bound up my wounds
Searching for kindness you held out your hand
Now enter into the home of my Father
When I was laughed at you stood at my side
When I was happy you shared in my joy
Now enter into the home of my Father.

Ponder -
Many feel social injustice is only about corrupt politicians and clashes of social classes. The rich get what they want and the poor suffer with no help. But social justice starts with us! How do we treat the elders, children, neighbours, Christians in other denominations, ex-convicts, those who fail in school, those who are physically challenged or those who don’t like us and our beliefs? Malachi 3:5 And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts.

Read -
Why should we stand for justice- social, economic, political and even personal?
1. Because we have a past We can't go back but Jesus can. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8) He can walk in those places of sin, failure and disappointment and wash us clean and make us new.
2. Because we need a present help in times of need Jesus knows the worst of us and believes the best of us because He sees us not with as we are but as we will be as we walk with Him. Remember the way the world saw Matthew, Zaccheus, Peter, Saul, the adulterous woman or Nicodemus were not the same way Jesus saw them. Jesus sees a justified us by our faith in Him.
3. Because we have a future Who else can we trust? In Jesus Christ we are safe for this life and for eternity. We know we are part of His plan, a bigger picture, and that when we have done our part, as we step off the stage, we will embrace a life of eternal happiness, peace and rest.

Prayer-point -
Let more people stand up for social justice. Let us oppose any of social injustice knowing that God can work through us. Let us pray that we will not be used as instruments of oppression in our silence or actions. In Jesus name, amen

Charge -
Stand up for right even if you are the only one standing for it.

For us in TLF we are going to be focusing on Enterprise aka Labour aka Work for the entire month of June. We are urged to work. If you do not work how would you meet your daily needs? Like food, shelter, clothings and transportation? What about having what to give to others in need? There are so many reasons to work. I know many of us love to do what we love, we do not like to go to work if we do not like the job. But what if what you are doing as work and being paid for is actually what you love? What you love may not turn out to be a source of income, but we must still do what we can to earn. Are you enterprising? Please keep it up. Are you in paid labour in the private or public sector? Please do your work as unto the Lord God. Are you working all by yourself as a self employed worker? Please continue to grow and progress for greatness. Always know that in - Happy moments, praise God.  Difficult moments, seek God.  Quiet moments, worship God.  Painful moments, trust ...
PRAYER FOR FORGIVENESS. We have ridiculed the absolute truth of God's word and called it 'pluralism'. We have worshipped other gods and said 'give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar'. We have endorsed pervertion and called it 'alternative life style'. We have exploited the poor and called it 'lottery'. We have rewarded laziness and called it 'welfare'. We have committed adultery and called it 'playing around'. We have committed fornication and called it 'having fun'. We have killed unborn children and called it 'choice'. We neglected to discipline our children and called it 'building self esteem'. We have abused power and called it 'politics'. We have converted our neighbour's property and called it 'ambition'. We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it 'freedom of expression'. We have ...

Story Time

Lisungu Chieza from Zimbabwe was 26 when she was told in 1996 that she was HIV+. "This started my long journey of coping with being HIV+. My husband died in my arms at home eight months later." Not only did Lisungu have to cope with her own illness and losing her husband, but her husband's family also wrongly blamed her for his death. They came to her house, took away his things, and said, "If those children of yours get sick, don't even call us. We won't have anything to do with them or you." They would not even let her go to her husband's burial. "I gave up a college course I had planned to do. All I thought about was death. I neglected my children and myself." But her mother supported her. Lisungu began to find hope again and joined an HIV support group. Then she started to help others who were also HIV+, and took a college course about HIV-AIDS. She spoke at HIV meetings with the young people in her church. She believes that it is ver...
