In TLF, sometimes we spend 40% of the time and resources on charity in terms of cash and kind, while the rest 60% we spend on social development.

While most people engage in our acts of charity, many do not follow up on our actions in developing the society in terms of outreaches, advocacy, seminars, filmshows, etc online, onsight, at the centre and off-site.

In January we have visited 2 schools this far and intend to visit a school a week to talk, interact and teach the children. These aspects of TLF also require volunteers, physical presence and participation of members and funds. We go to interiors and focus on those who may not have access to the knowledge we share.

This month TLF will be focusing on talks of new beginnings, spelling bee, arts and seminar on time management. We have set aside gifts for some students and we are processing appropriate time and days to visit all the schools. 

We pray to God for help, sustenance, provision, protection and success. The enthusiasm on the faces of staff and students when we visit is priceless.

Commitment, dedication and actual action is key to the success of all our activities in TLF.

We are grateful to God for successes over the past 20 years and counting. To God be all glory.

Story Time

  Lisungu Chieza from Zimbabwe was 26 when she was told in 1996 that she was HIV+. "This started my long journey of coping with being HIV+. My husband died in my arms at home eight months later." Not only did Lisungu have to cope with her own illness and losing her husband, but her husband's family also wrongly blamed her for his death. They came to her house, took away his things, and said, "If those children of yours get sick, don't even call us. We won't have anything to do with them or you." They would not even let her go to her husband's burial. "I gave up a college course I had planned to do. All I thought about was death. I neglected my children and myself." Today is the second part of our D Day for the month of August!

Today is the second part of our D Day for the month of August! Although this celebration is marked in the month of May, we have harmonised all relevant sub-themes dealing with family and youth under this month of August.  15th of May is International Day of Families.  We commend all those individuals, groups, NGOs, Charities, Foundations and others who engage in one form of activity or the other to promote wholesome family life and the true meaning of family.  God bless your labour and work of love.
