Happy new week beloved of God,

Life is like a tug of war.
But God is not on one side pulling, we are the ones on one side filled with the Holy Spirit while the devil and his agents are on the other side. Satan is no match for God. He has been put under the footstool of Jesus. At best Satan wrestles with angels of God sent to reinforce and enforce God’s command. It's war!

Like in every tug of war, there is a line to cross.
When the rope is pulled by one side across the line, they are seen as being stronger and being the winners.

But Jesus has told us many things for us to win:
1. "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me you might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."
2. Paul reminds us that we are more than conquerors.
3. We also know that the battle is the Lord’s.
4. Again know that we wrestle not human beings as we see them with our natural eyes, but the principalities, powers and demons they possess, manifest and represent.
5. Finally, among many other promises, in our weakness God becomes strong for us.

Are your palms getting sore from pulling the ropes?
Are your sandals gathering dust on the ground as you withstand being pulled?
Are your fellow-team mates pulling too hard on your waist?

Hang on! Hold the fort! Hold the rope!
Victory is sure. Jesus said it is finished, so it is. He is the truth remember!
Satan says, "... no you are just starting and you will never end well". Well he's the father of lies what do you expect to hear? The devil tell you, "... oh I'm losing!" No he'll continue to sell you those false facts against the truth. He'll tell you its your nature; your flesh is winning over your spirit; you are under grace and mercy so you can be lazy in your faith; God forgives so sin on; after all the righteous man falls 7 times and God remembers we are weak mortals!

Take heed, beloved of God, life is a tug of war and to draw that rope across the line to your side, you have to put on your whole armour of God (Ephesians 6) and watch and pray. Don't live in ignorance. Don't be earthly wise and be a spiritual mediocre. Don't leave your destiny for your clergy, priest, pastor, mum's prayers, dad's influence or other such care takers. You are the owner. It's your life- God's gift to you.

In conclusion, Jennifer Benson Schuldt says,
'A persistent worry or even a sinful thought that disrupts a prayer may become the centerpiece of our discussion with God. God wants us to be real as we talk with Him and open up about our deepest concerns, fears, and struggles. He is not surprised by anything we mention. His interest in us is like the attention we would receive from a close friend. That’s why we’re encouraged to give all of our worries and cares to God—because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7).'

I sincerely wish you a victorious week ahead.
Whichever side we wake, our victory is assured.

Story Time

Lisungu Chieza from Zimbabwe was 26 when she was told in 1996 that she was HIV+. "This started my long journey of coping with being HIV+. My husband died in my arms at home eight months later." Not only did Lisungu have to cope with her own illness and losing her husband, but her husband's family also wrongly blamed her for his death. They came to her house, took away his things, and said, "If those children of yours get sick, don't even call us. We won't have anything to do with them or you." They would not even let her go to her husband's burial. "I gave up a college course I had planned to do. All I thought about was death. I neglected my children and myself." But her mother supported her. Lisungu began to find hope again and joined an HIV support group. Then she started to help others who were also HIV+, and took a college course about HIV-AIDS. She spoke at HIV meetings with the young people in her church. She believes that it is ver...

Today is the second part of our D Day for the month of August!

Today is the second part of our D Day for the month of August! Although this celebration is marked in the month of May, we have harmonised all relevant sub-themes dealing with family and youth under this month of August.  15th of May is International Day of Families.  We commend all those individuals, groups, NGOs, Charities, Foundations and others who engage in one form of activity or the other to promote wholesome family life and the true meaning of family.  God bless your labour and work of love. May we not do anything in vain. Remember - Matthew 12:49 And He stretched out His hand toward His disciples and said, "Here are My mother and My brothers! Psalm 113:Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity! You are invited to attend our viewing of - "Loneliness is literally killing us" by Will Wright at TEDxBirmingham . We commend the speaker and give kudos to the organisers.
