This month we looked at sub-issues under the theme Learning a.k.a. Literacy! Learning entails both formal and informal trainings and tutelage. It involves the student and the teacher.
The United Nations enjoins nations to take seriously the issue of Learning and Literacy as it declared 8th September yearly as International Literacy Day every year to sensitise the public on the issue.Remember in May we dealt with the theme of Communication. Just as communication is important to impact knowledge, we acknowledge that English language has been used in Nigeria as a means of learning. We also celebrate our individual languages and recognise that learning and literacy is also important with our languages. While we are to obey our teachers, we are not expected to allow them or seniors in school to lead us astray or teach us nonsense!
When Jesus is in our learning we will be humble and useful. When people use their learning and literacy to oppress, device bombs, evil and brag, then you’ll know that they have missed it.
As Christians we know God is our Father, for our success in having godly wisdom and knowledge, we must fear God, give Him glory and allow Jesus into our minds and understanding solely.
Jesus Christ came to show us the example of love in learning when He sat at age 12 with elders in His Father’s house and by Him we shall not perish for we do not lack knowledge.
