"No Condition Is Permanent"

... the ultimate law is love.

"For the poor you have with you always..." is a statement many make to mean that no matter the kindness and good causes you engage in in this world to alleviate poverty, there shall still be poor people with us. But is this message supposed to make us now uncaring, lackadaisical and indifferent? Have you not shown partiality among yourselves if you have become this type of person? because you have become a judge with evil thoughts. You have looked with contempt on the poor concluding that the poor would always be there. But you and I know so many who were poor while growing up who have become even richer than those who were richer than their entire family in their past. Listen, my beloved reader, has God not chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him? People keep mentioning how rich Abraham was and Solomon, and David and even Jesus that they say people fought and threw dice for His clothings, really?! Did any of these people find favour with God because of money? Do you think money is a sign that God is with the person who has it? You have dishonored the poor man if you think he has no place in God's kingdom or the Body of Christ because he has no money. How can you ignore the fact that it is the rich who oppress prople in the society and the world at large? They are the ones who most often blaspheme that noble name by which you are called - Christian, the son or daughter of your father and mother with a good name and pedigree, a distinguished person in your profession, the overall best graduand, the virtuous woman, the man of integrity, the humble one, the patroitic citizen, the honest worker, the hardworker, the noble man! If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, which says, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself," you do well, but if you show partiality between the rich and the poor, you commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors. But God wants you and I to be blessed as we consider the poor, for He Himself our Lord will deliver us in time of trouble, preserve us, keep us alive, and make us blessed on the earth. Just by doing this God will not deliver us to the will of those who take us as their enemies. You see that by being fervent in love for one another, our "love will cover a multitude of sin"? If you feel you are rich or average, thank God. If you think you are poor, thank God, it may be that we pray just like Jabez did, "Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!" So God granted him what he requested. No Condition Is Permanent.

Story Time

Lisungu Chieza from Zimbabwe was 26 when she was told in 1996 that she was HIV+. "This started my long journey of coping with being HIV+. My husband died in my arms at home eight months later." Not only did Lisungu have to cope with her own illness and losing her husband, but her husband's family also wrongly blamed her for his death. They came to her house, took away his things, and said, "If those children of yours get sick, don't even call us. We won't have anything to do with them or you." They would not even let her go to her husband's burial. "I gave up a college course I had planned to do. All I thought about was death. I neglected my children and myself." But her mother supported her. Lisungu began to find hope again and joined an HIV support group. Then she started to help others who were also HIV+, and took a college course about HIV-AIDS. She spoke at HIV meetings with the young people in her church. She believes that it is ver...

Today is the second part of our D Day for the month of August!

Today is the second part of our D Day for the month of August! Although this celebration is marked in the month of May, we have harmonised all relevant sub-themes dealing with family and youth under this month of August.  15th of May is International Day of Families.  We commend all those individuals, groups, NGOs, Charities, Foundations and others who engage in one form of activity or the other to promote wholesome family life and the true meaning of family.  God bless your labour and work of love. May we not do anything in vain. Remember - Matthew 12:49 And He stretched out His hand toward His disciples and said, "Here are My mother and My brothers! Psalm 113:Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity!
