Month Review

A common saying says, ‘train a woman, train a nation’ people also believe that when you empower a woman, you empower the nation.

 Imagine now if the girl child is endangered how can you ensure a future of great women?

 Violence among some boys is taken as play, sport or initiation to manhood, but for a woman, violence is seen as an aberration. 

 Violence against people in general must be kicked against but in particular violence against the girl child and women.

 Acts of charity towards victims of violence helps in supporting social development.

 We have an assurance, if justified by faith, that no weapon fashioned formed against you and me and our loved ones shall prosper.

 No matter the increase in the spate of violence, we can rest assured that Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour has us safe.

 Psalms 56:1 Be merciful to me, O God, for man would swallow me up; Fighting all day he oppresses me.
2 My enemies would hound me all day, For there are many who fight against me, O Most High.
3 Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.
4 In God (I will praise His word), In God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?
5 All day they twist my words; All their thoughts are against me for evil.
6 They gather together, They hide, they mark my steps, When they lie in wait for my life.

  Lisungu Chieza from Zimbabwe was 26 when she was told in 1996 that she was HIV+. "This started my long journey of coping with being HIV+. My husband died in my arms at home eight months later." Not only did Lisungu have to cope with her own illness and losing her husband, but her husband's family also wrongly blamed her for his death. They came to her house, took away his things, and said, "If those children of yours get sick, don't even call us. We won't have anything to do with them or you." They would not even let her go to her husband's burial. "I gave up a college course I had planned to do. All I thought about was death. I neglected my children and myself."
