In this May we as an NGO have engaged in issues surrounding #Communication. We have discussed several facets of communication as well as highlighted the good and the bad. We said that on one hand communication is key in every aspect of life as well as for the growth of generation o generation. On the other hand we have condemned the negative sides which include gossip, rumour, fake news and incitement.
In this month we have put together various United Nations’ Days of celebrating communication sub-themes into one, such as World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, World Development Information Day, International Day for Universal Access to Information, International Day of Light, World Radio Day, World Television Day, World Press Freedom Day, International Day of Sign Languages, International Translation Day and also importantly World Teachers’ Day.
We continued in our works of charity especially in the pandemic by sharing food and other items around our centre here which include Ohonre, Uwelu, Isiohor, Adolor and BDPA.
We received donations and also solicited for more donations.
We asked for funds to support the Our Daily Bread (ODB) Organisations who enrich the world via printed materials.
We also continued our works of social development by advocating for better communication to rural and interior areas as well as information that is wholesome, necessary and beneficial.
At our Centre we engaged people in sports, games, reading and other areas.
We truly thank God for a month well spent and look forward to better days.
