24th of October is World Development Information Day

24th of October is World Development Information Day.

We commend all those individuals, groups, NGOs, Charities, Foundations and others who engage in one form of development of information or the other.

God bless your labour and work of love.

May we not do anything in vain.

We must agree that information has developed from generation to generation.

We have had generations of town criers to megaphone preachers. We’ve had cars and vans moving with loud speakers and also had radio and TV. From the time of infra red to Bluetooth to xender. From telegraph to postal services to emails. We’ve had Skype, facebook, whatsapp, zoom and many others.

How can you suggest that information be improved for the good of all people?

Remember our theme is a way TLF contributes to charity and social development.

People who have falsely assumed that prisoners are all bad so need no charity; orphanages that have diverted foodstuffs have been generalised to reflect all orphanages; or people’s half truths that have prevented social development. Some good meaning people have changed their minds on bringing development to a community because of false communications given them about the feasibility studies. For example someone who wanted to renovate a public clinic or school was shown false pictures of a school and clinic that were fine and needed no help. Whereas, they had no furniture or equipment within!

Truly pictures can be worth a thousand words- but are they words of truth or lies?

Remember Isaiah 52:7 How beautiful upon the mountains Are the feet of him who brings good news, Who proclaims peace, Who brings glad tidings of good things, Who proclaims salvation, Who says to Zion, "Your God reigns!"

Remember the ultimate law is love.

God is love.

There is no answer outside of God.

Your life in God is most important.

In all your research, submit to Jesus Christ and be fervent.

For us in TLF we are going to be focusing on Enterprise aka Labour aka Work for the entire month of June. We are urged to work. If you do not work how would you meet your daily needs? Like food, shelter, clothings and transportation? What about having what to give to others in need? There are so many reasons to work. I know many of us love to do what we love, we do not like to go to work if we do not like the job. But what if what you are doing as work and being paid for is actually what you love? What you love may not turn out to be a source of income, but we must still do what we can to earn. Are you enterprising? Please keep it up. Are you in paid labour in the private or public sector? Please do your work as unto the Lord God. Are you working all by yourself as a self employed worker? Please continue to grow and progress for greatness. Always know that in - Happy moments, praise God.  Difficult moments, seek God.  Quiet moments, worship God.  Painful moments, trust ...

Today is the second part of our D Day for the month of August!

Today is the second part of our D Day for the month of August! Although this celebration is marked in the month of May, we have harmonised all relevant sub-themes dealing with family and youth under this month of August.  15th of May is International Day of Families.  We commend all those individuals, groups, NGOs, Charities, Foundations and others who engage in one form of activity or the other to promote wholesome family life and the true meaning of family.  God bless your labour and work of love. You are invited to attend our viewing of - "Loneliness is literally killing us" by Will Wright at TEDxBirmingham . We commend the speaker and give kudos to the organisers. The United Nations designates specific days, weeks, years and decades as occasions to mark particular events or topics in order to promote, through awareness and action, the objectives of the Organization. Usually, it is one or more Member States that propose these observances and the General Assembly establishes them with a resolution. On occasion, these celebrations are declared by the specialized agencies of the United Nations, such as UNESCO, UNICEF, FAO, etc., when they concern issues that fall within the scope of their competencies. Some of them may be later adopted by the General Assembly. 1 June Global Day of Parents   3 June World Bicycle Day  4 June International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression   5 June World Environment Day  5 June International Day for the Fight against Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated Fishing  8 June World Oceans Day   12 June World Day Against Child Labour 13 June International Albinism Awarene...
