Excerpts from Ephraim Abutu:

Indeed communication is vital in every human life and we must be mindful of the kind of information we pass out. That is why the holy book warned that when one is happy or sad s/he must be mindful of his outspoken words.

Majority of those living in the rural areas are not opportune to this not because they don’t need it but because our government have failed in their duty to make it happen. And more reason rumour spread faster as well and whatever one tells the old man or woman in the village, he or she will believe it because it is the only means of information he has received. So, we that have the opportunity must be a positive carrier not negative. Before you passed out any information, kindly scrutinise the source you received it before sending it to the public. A lot of people have died of fake rumour or wrong information. So as learned people, we must be at the helm of passing out valid information, extracting the fact from the rumour or pseudo information then you can send it out. If you are a good carrier of positive and genuine information, people will not only respect you but they will rely heavily on you.

Some of our national dailies are not free from this as well. Because they want to sell their papers, they indulge in some information that is not valid. In news writing and journalism, you can get the full details of information from the "Lead” which is always in the first paragraph of some news papers with about "40 or 48 words". But some conventional news writer such as punch and the guardian, it either appears in the middle, first paragraph or last paragraph of their newspaper.

How do we then help those in the rural areas? We can help them by providing radio with the appropriate frequency, sponsoring the delivery of some national dailies to the rural areas, etc. But there is a barrier to this and that is language. How to solve this is by liaising with some of the local digital guru in that particular area and translate it to the language they will understand. This is also applicable to other means of communication.

For us in TLF we are going to be focusing on Enterprise aka Labour aka Work for the entire month of June. We are urged to work. If you do not work how would you meet your daily needs? Like food, shelter, clothings and transportation? What about having what to give to others in need? There are so many reasons to work. I know many of us love to do what we love, we do not like to go to work if we do not like the job. But what if what you are doing as work and being paid for is actually what you love? What you love may not turn out to be a source of income, but we must still do what we can to earn. Are you enterprising? Please keep it up. Are you in paid labour in the private or public sector? Please do your work as unto the Lord God. Are you working all by yourself as a self employed worker? Please continue to grow and progress for greatness. Always know that in - Happy moments, praise God.  Difficult moments, seek God.  Quiet moments, worship God.  Painful moments, trust ...

Thank God For The End Of Our mid-Year Crossover Prayers For 2025

Dear Lord, I thank you for this day, as we continue this second half of this year. I thank You for our  being able to see and to hear this morning. We’re blessed because You are a forgiving God and an understanding God. You have done so much for us  and You keep on blessing us . Forgive us  this day for everything we  have done, said or thought that was not pleasing to you. We  ask now for Your forgiveness. Please keep us  safe from all danger and harm. Help us  to start this day and second half of the year 2025 with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude. Let us  make the best of each and every day to clear our  mind s  so that we  can hear from You. Please broaden our  mind s  that we  can accept all things. Let us  not whine and whimper over things we  have no control over. Let us  continue to see sin through Your eyes and acknowledge it as evil. And when we  sin, let us  repent, and confes...
