14th of June is World Blood Donor Day.

14th of June is World Blood Donor Day.

We commend all those individuals, groups, NGOs, Charities, Foundations and others who donate blood, sponsor voluntary donation of blood and who help provide subsidised blood for those who need and are indigent. These are pictures of the times I have had the privilege of donating blood as well as pictures of others who also donate.

I too have been a recipient of blood donation. I too developed that interest of donating blood as a way of giving back after I received blood in JSS 2 when I had a serious illness that cost my absence for most of the first term.

May we not do anything in vain.

We celebrate the life of an Australian blood donor ceebraed as a great blood donor. James Christopher Harrison OAM, born on 27th of December 1936 and died on the 17th of February 2025.

In 1951, at the age of 14, James underwent a surgery that required the transfusion of donated blood. This made him pledge to give back by donating blood. He became known as the "Man with the Golden Arm" for his prolific history of donations, 1,173 times between the ages 18 to 81.

James primarily donated plasma after his blood was found to contain antibodies against the Rh D antigen, making them useful in preventing Rh disease, and was one of the founding donors for the New South Wales Rh Program.

God bless your labour and work of love.

I too have been a recipient of blood donation.

May we not do anything in vain.

Remember Leviticus 17:11 'For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.'

God is love.

There is nothing wrong in donating blood to save a life.

We do not support blood sacrifices or ritualistic use of blood or so called love blood ties.

There is no answer outside of God.

Your life in God is most important.

Get informed on the proper and safe matching of blood groups and genotypes.

But in all your research, submit to Jesus Christ and be fervent.

On a lighter side...

Our TLF 2 Day Event

Our TLF 2 Day Event started on Thursday and ended yesterday Friday. We had the person of Mrs Ishioma Francis who came to share good news with the children. We had Art competition and prizes were given. We had spelling bee and gifts were given. We had skipping competition and gifts were given. We had recitation of poems originally written by the children and gifts were given. We also used the opportunity to remind everyone of our theme for August. We shared our drinks and biscuits and everyone had a nice time. The children interacted and had a nice time. It came to a happy end and everyone went back home safely. We look forward to more activities such as these. We thank God for the success and blessings. God bless all those who contributed in various ways. Remember that, the ultimate law is love. TLF

Did You Know?

Creativity comes from God the Creator and He has given us pro-creative abilities in different areas to make the world a better place and provide works of charity. In TLF we are big on arts, crafts and creativity. We celebrate creativity. Many people have been able to support charitable causes from creative art exhibitions and sales. Many others have also used their creative works to raise awareness on various laudable causes for social development. Take for instance in our theme for this month, we have selected some creative art works that will help pass our message to us in an artistic way. Also in our Centre, we host children who often come just to draw and make things from recycled materials. We strongly invite you to like our facebook page - TLF Creativity. We also share and retweet such creativity on our X handle that we also invite you to like and share. Our various artworks in TLF add to the posters we paste around and the comics we also produce and share out. Join our facebook ...

For us in TLF we are going to be focusing on Enterprise aka Labour aka Work for the entire month of June. We are urged to work. If you do not work how would you meet your daily needs? Like food, shelter, clothings and transportation? What about having what to give to others in need? There are so many reasons to work. I know many of us love to do what we love, we do not like to go to work if we do not like the job. But what if what you are doing as work and being paid for is actually what you love? What you love may not turn out to be a source of income, but we must still do what we can to earn. Are you enterprising? Please keep it up. Are you in paid labour in the private or public sector? Please do your work as unto the Lord God. Are you working all by yourself as a self employed worker? Please continue to grow and progress for greatness. Always know that in - Happy moments, praise God.  Difficult moments, seek God.  Quiet moments, worship God.  Painful moments, trust ...
